TNel:
So you are saying you get Amazon Prime free movies to your Tivo? How? Unless there was a stealth update lately I've been trying for a year now.

You can get Amazon Video on Demand(download) but not Amazon Instant Video (streaming). Some lame VoD content is free but it's not the Amazon Instant Video you get for free with Amazon Prime.

Amazon's pages are a PIA about that. You look for AIV on TiVo and tells you about VoD on TiVo. There is no Amazon STREAMING on TiVo. There is Hulu on the TiVo Series 4s.

Yeah that's what I thought but BadLogic made it sound like he got the free streaming working which kind of shocked me. I love my Tivo's but hate that part.

akula: Tobin_Lam: Netflix pissed me off the other night when I started Captain America and they didn't have 5.1 audio, only stereo. The last Battlestar episode came out years ago and most of it is in surround sound. That kind of thing is ridiculous and should not happen.

IIRC, the only way to get Dolby Digital out of Netflix is with a PS3 or by using a Roku 2 box with a receiver that supports DD+ (not normal DD). I'm not sure if Blu-Ray players will also mix the audio stream to a DD format (need to try with mine, but I haven't noticed).

That's a pretty convoluted set of requirements just to get the same audio format we've been using for years on DVDs. Lossless audio formats are pretty much right out for streamed media (it's one reason why I still like Blu-Rays), but I'd like to see one of these services finally decide it's time to cater to more than the lowest common denominator and offer high quality audio.

They've got it on the xbox360 and my TV's built-in app(via Toslink) but not everything actually has a DD stream. For example, the first couple seasons of Battlestar are in stereo while the rest is 5.1. I just don't understand how new content that should be DD isn't while older content is.
