Well, at least we don't have the universal healthcare, unions and big government of those socialist failures like all of the countries that beat us.

We must reduce the minimum wage to tree fiddy NOW!

MOAR TAX CUTTZZZZ

2012-09-05 11:49:47 AM
The blame falls squarely on the "job creators," who have enjoyed unprecedented wealth increase while not creating jobs.

They need more tax cuts, obviously.

Shipping all the jobs overseas and letting the CEOs loot what's left will eventually catch up to you.

Came in to say this...piping all of our economic capital overseas is not going to help our economy.

We should hold our own credit rating hostage for more draconian cuts to social programs that everybody needs. That'll pep 'er right back up.

It's almost as if pissing away hundreds of billions of dollars each year to private health insurance companies puts us at a disadvantage.

It's going to get worse when the China bubble bursts. If you add up all of the world's import totals, then all of their export totals, you'll notice that there's hundreds of millions of dollars a year being exported to nowhere.

Political infighting... does a body bad. I have to wonder if, to a neutral observer how our Dem v. GOP pissing war looks in relation to countries that hate each other. Do our political parties talk like France and Germany or Greece and Germany, or perhaps North and South Korea?

Or is our level of "discourse" typical? I mean, other than the "Kenyan usurper" thread running through much of it.

probably pretty typical. however, I like political infighting. I just hope the next president has as much political infighting. the more difficult it is for a government actor to do something the better.

pfft meaningless. Look at those countries ranked ahead of us. The only one of note is Germany, as for the rest, they have no global impact. Tiny economic specks. Similar to making the argument that the players in the WNBA play a more fundamentally sound game than in the NBA,

Won't be all bad. If China's economy stumbles, investment money normally headed there will head elsewhere.....West perhaps.

i think a huge ridiculous federal debt contributes to this as well.

Right, because an inefficient government that accomplishes nothing is clearly the pinnacle of what Americans should expect. $DEITY forbid that we actually try to get some sort of reasonable benefit from the government...

1. Switzerland
2. Singapore
3. Finland
4. Sweden
5. Netherlands
6. Germany

I'll remember this when I drive my Swiss made car to my large Singapore style home with its giant made-in-Finland entertainment system.

I have no idea what "competitiveness" means in this context, but judging by the list, socialized medicine is a key ingredient.

i didn't say inefficient and i didn't say it should do nothing. but, difficulty is good. the harder it is to act, the more resistance, the more perfect the government act has to be.

whenever everyone is on board and holding hands, that's when quickly and poorly written legislation is set in motion. the kind that attempts to solve today's problems by creating 100 of problems for tomorrow.

/ i know people with my state's law institute. they provide advice to legislators to change, correct, and add new laws to solve emerging problems. it is hard as fark to write good law. if you don't have everyone criticizing it like crazy, you will get some dumbassed laws that are completely unaware of the problems within; infighting helps people criticize each other. now, if they'd just grow some brains, the infighting would be much more productive

But those private health insurance companies create jobs by employing hoards of adjusters who deny claims and bill clients for huge deductibles.

From an Australian perspective the things the Republicans are saying lately are truly bizarre. And Australian politicians are a lot more rough and ready than their UK counterparts.

Calling people sluts because they use birth control, murderers because they support women's choice regarding abortion, calling the President a secret Muslim, and calling the entire Democrat party communists. And then advocating gutting whats left of your social security system so that the wealthy can pay even less tax than they do now.

It makes the US look like a third world country waiting to happen.

Can you imagine the horror if all the US Corporate dollars lounging in the Cayman Islands were forcibly deported to the US?
