And here is the essential pickle of the GOP's 2012 platform. Romney's message to the nation, that the economy sucks, that it's Obama's fault, can easily be turned around and used by Democrats against GOP Governors and Congressman. No GOP Governor or Senator is going to share the stage with a guy who is telling their constituents that things are bad, especially when in many cases it's the opposite. It would be completely different if the majority of governors in swing states were Democrats, but having so many Republicans running state legislatures across the country is actually going to end up hurting Republicans by forcing the Romney campaign to abandon a relatively strong campaign strategy (particularly against "low-information voters"), which is that the economy is in shambles.

Cognitive dissonance is an area weapon, and the Republicans have gotten so used to employing it in their rhetoric that it's coming back to bite them with splash damage.

While I'll never call a race 'over' before it is over, I'm growing a bit more curious about the local and regional races- senate, house, state legislatures and so on.

Dozens of Democratic candidates are skipping the three-day event, including U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill of Missouri, U.S. Sens. Jon Tester of Montana and Joe Manchin of West Virginia and Keith Fitzgerald of Florida.. More than two dozen Democrats, many in vulnerable congressional districts, are avoiding the convention because they don't want to be tied to President Barack Obama or liberal party leaders.

I hate to say this (being from Greater Carolina), but Lesser Carolina definitely has a better employment situation, and I think that may have been a clumsily intentional 'mistake', given the location of the DNC and all. It's a little sad to think the author would resort to such pathetic Fox News tactics, but it seems a little suspicious otherwise...

Really? Even with the %9.8 unemployment NJ is still in better shape than most states in the nation. Chris Christie worked to get balances budgets, cut dumb spending, and start pension and benefit reform. He is also getting teacher tenure reform so we do not have the "job for life" slackers who have ruined public eduction in this state (We also spend the most for our public schools, but have some of the worst public schools in the nation, Camden and Newark are great examples of billions of wasted dollars for the worst schools in America). Also tax relief in the most overtaxed state in the nation, is not a bad idea. I pay more in property taxes than most of you make a year.

I acknowledge your correct ordering of bbq priority. However, your failure to refer to my former home as 'Best Carolina' has been duly noted, and shortly a stern letter of reprimand will be sent to your abode, instructing you to take your ass-clown pro football team and dry counties and GTFO.

I'm waiting for the day when one of our states decides to rename itself simply "Carolina". I think there will be a war.

I pour scorn, derision, and disdain on your benighted failure to acknowledge the obvious superiority of Great Carolina. Furthermore, I mock you pathetic attempt to belittle the Panthers. All true Greater Carolinians are ACC basketball fans, and could care less about that amateur bunch of Atlanta rejects.

Finally, I don't know wtf you're talking about with dry counties - we're the home of the Link, for God's sake! I think you must be confusing us with Tennessee...

in the list of the 100 worst public schools in America, NJ doesn't have a single school listed.

Link

NJ doesn't have any listings in the top ten worst school districts either (as of 2008, before Christie came along), yet dominates the top 10.

Link

but sure, go ahead and herp and derp away about how terrible NJ schools are and how Christie has saved them
