The wildwood flower grew wild on the farm
And we never knowed what it was called
Some said it was a flower and some said it was weed
I didn't gave it much thought...

Yeah. "Accidental." And Clinton never inhaled.

Some farmer if he couldn't tell the difference between sunflower and hemp seed.

To be fair, the article says they were hemp plants unable to get anyone high. So logically he wasn't growing them to sell.

See, cops can act civilised too.

Happy accident.

"Accidental"? Hardly. A hemp seed is small and basically spherical. A sunflower seed is what people shell and leave everywhere. Not only could a farmer tell the difference, so could any nonretarded person.

It's almost like they use rational thought instead of brute force. Still, I wouldn't fark with the Polizei.

If any of you would RTFA, it says he spread bird seed and hoped for the best. I doubt he sat there and separated out the sunflower seeds.

I'd say it was one of those mixed bad of birdseed he sprinkled - those ones with Pumpkin seeds, etc etc.

He didn't sow sunflower seeds, he just strew bird seed, which was probably a mix that may have contained sunflower, among other seeds.

hemp/= cannabis

"This plant - hemp - the 'male' part is completely different than the 'female' - cannabis/marijuana. Industrial hemp IS NOT a drug! You would get sick smoking hemp trying to get high - there is virtually no THC (the ingredient that will get you high) in hemp. "

Hemp (from Old English hænep) is a term reserved mainly for low tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) strains of the plant Cannabis sativa.

I did not know that hemp production was illegal in Germany. Thought only America was that dense.

Old man farming a negligble quantity of hemp? I'm so glad that they got rid of this terrible menace to law and order.

Well worth every penny of those tax dollars.

I get all kinds of crazy shiat growing under our bird feeder. not sure any of it is/was ever hemp since I mow it down every week or so.

Cops used to be like this in the US, too.

*sigh* I miss our civil police force.

I worked briefly with a guy who bought an old hemp farm. Any time he disturbs the soil, non THC bearing plants grow up and the RCMP come out and give him a hard time. "Look, we've been over this..."

They were probably just trying to stave off the twin threats of morons wandering through his field stealing worthless plants and Monsanto wandering behind them looking for any other controversial plants that he may have inadvertently spread.

While the wisdom of the ban is questionable, this story certainly seems to describe the right way to handle enforcement. They informed him of the problem, accepted that it was an innocent mistake, and let him correct it. No one was arrested, no one was required to pay an outrageous bill for an "official" contractor, and that was that.

If you want to fix the ban, fix the ban. Refusing to enforce the law is not a good solution, certainly not in the long term.

It is common for people to plant cannibas in corn fields, hoping to harvest it just before the farmers harvest the corn. Cops are understanding unless the farmer has a drug history. It is easily spotted from the air. I knew someone that owned 50 acres and so much cannibas was growing on it, he was afraid to go on his own property.

when I was in the Army in Hawaii way back in the 80s, we would run across weed growing operations with some regularity. Nerve racking.

2012-09-05 11:35:13 AM
A couple of years ago a farmer I knew was able to harvest his corn early (he has a large grain dryer, doesn't need to let the corn dry in the field as long). While going down the rows in his combine he saw what appeared to be a small tree growing in his field (not tall enough to go over the corn).

Upon closer inspection, it was a large pot plant. He chopped it down and threw it to the pigs, and put up a sign saying basically saying "Be grateful I didn't call the cops, Don't do this again" to the unfortunate S.O.B. who put it there, who was probably waiting for "normal" harvest time to go and get it.

He did keep a small souvenir bud though, and had a dumb-ass attack and forgot he left it on his dash. Drove into the feed mill and somebody saw it. Long story short, he gave it to a guy who said he was going to trade it to a hillbilly for moonshine.

/csb
//local law says you are allowed to have like 1 plant every so many acres due to "natural planting"
///he was a small blimp on the radar compared to the large 100+ acre field about 10 miles away that got busted

The police everywhere are doing it wrong. If you want to screw with pot farmers then leave the fields of crappy hemp intact. Now their outdoor high quality plants, and even some indoor ones, will have seeds and those seeds will carry some of the non-THC traits of the ditch weed hemp.

2012-09-05 12:06:35 PM
I was training at Ft Riley Kansas and there was a variety the locals called Kansas killer weed that grew wild all over the base. It had the classic marijuana shaped leaves, but not enough THC to be useful as a drug. One time we all used it for camouflage after all it was a conman native plant. The Sargent chewed us out and told us never to do that again but we did have a laugh over it.

Once the impromptu botany lesson was over, he proceeded to climb in his tractor and destroy the hemp under the watchful eye of the police - who later said in a statement that the plants were not actually strong enough to give anyone a high.

So why make him till it over? Oh yeah, the chemical companies and ethanol lobby don't like competition from hemp.

I'm betting someone gets a round or two from an old Panzerschreck through their bedroom window, late one night.

I used to think pot was harmless like most of you Farkers, until I actually saw someone using cannabis with my own eyes. Did you know they smoke that weed stuff, and then they relax? Im not joking, I literally saw these cannabis users relax, then get hungry, then listen to music! The nerve of these people?! I used to believe it was foolish that the DEA was spending $8 billion of ours annually, with this economy and all, to harass and imprison peaceful citizens. But now that Ive seen them relax, and grow hungry, the wool has been lifted from my eyes.

Dont you potheads see how dangerous and illegal it is to relax? Your controlled substance, grows out of the ground, and is bright green! Wake up! Ive rarely seen such reckless and dangerous behavior, personally, what with brightly colored plants and relaxed people.

Grow up potheads! Come to the bar and hit the whiskey with the real men, our buzz is legal and socially acceptable. I mean, they know most of us are going to drive home intoxicated, on populated roadways tonight. But it really isnt that bad. I think only 15,000+ people a year die in drunk driving accidents, which has to be muuuch safer than cannabis.

/I bet those potheads get obnoxious and violent, engage in brutish behavior, stumble and slur when they relax too, vomit everywhere, maybe beat their loved ones, things they otherwise wouldnt do sober
//Sheesh

Subby - Man attacked by lion! Article - man scratched by house cat. Hey they are both felines! Fail! That stuff grows wild where I live. Its from the hemp for victory program during WWII. So along transportation routes ie roads and railroad tracks its everywhere. We call it ditch weed. I knew a guy who had just moved from Texas. One day he comes to me all secret like wanting to show me something. I go to his car and the trunk was full of ditch weed!

You'd think the mounties would have a file on this. And that the cops would be able to tell at a glance that the male plants are useless. They need a botany refresher.

You should know; when the politzi shoot some guy for running away; there isn't an investigation. They say that he shouldn't have run away from the police. End of story.

/ they don't fire warning shots either

// you should never run from the german police; they are just as likely to just shoot you as chase you.
