Very clever of them to station a meat smoker between the main offices and the player parking lot, I must say.

that was crazy yesterday... following Aaron Wilson on twitter... he's done. oh, maybe not officially yet... wait, they are looking to possibly restructure his contract. oh, he isnt going to do it-- doesnt want to take a 50% paycut. wait, they are back talking again... okay, he is signing.

weight incentives was a great move...

Ravens are a better team with him starting.

Those pro athletes you read/hear about that go bankrupt and live in a van down by the river, within a few years of retiring? McKinnie's one of them.

/give him 12 months after retiring before he's completely broke

Wait, so you're saying the guy who got kicked off the *Pro Bowl * team for being lazy still has weight problems?

CRAZY. Next you'll tell me Lindsay Loahn still has substance abuse problems.

/He's your problem now Ravens
//I'll sit here with Kalil

Oh it's not a surprise. But even coming in overweight and a bit flighty he's probably the best LT on the team. And the restructure didn't include an extension so this year is his last under contract.

I'd consider it a good FA pick up for his play last year and low cost. He's making less than half of one of our guards.

GOD I wish the Vikings wouldnt have released that big SOB. That was almost as stupid as the Herschel Walker deal...

yeah, the best think about having B-Mac on the left side is that it keeps Michael Oher on the right side.

Oher is one of the better RT's in the game... but he's probably in the 40% range on the left.

/regardless-- too many false starts

Not even close sir.

Little we have done is in that realm.

Yeah, and Harbs seems like he's itching to put Oher back at LT every chance he gets for some reason.

well, it could have been worse... we had Brian wanting to put Boller in every chance he could get too.

I think he's just trying to show B-Mac that "hey... if you wanna go, we'll move on without you." and I think he's telling Oher "we are confident that you can play LT just fine... youre a better fit for RT, but if we need someone on the left to step up... it's gonna be you."

McKinnie had a good year last year. He dominated the matchups with the Steelers against Harrison and Woodley.

I was sad the Steelers didn't sign him last year and I was hoping they grabbed him this year for some depth/stability when it was reported the Ravens were cutting him.

This is the guy who pancaked two probowl Steelers defenders to open the season last year, in one of the best blocks in franchise history. That was Rice's unexpected opening TD run. He wasn't the best lineman on the team last year (that was Ben Grubbs, now a Saint), but that play is unforgettable. I was surprised the Ravens did this.

My questions is A) I know the Ravens had to get under the salary cap, but why cut a guy, when you know you can trade him somewhere and get something in return.

I'm glad they didnt cut him and he restructured his contract... he may be a headache around training camp/preseason... but when that first whistle blows--- that dude is a beast!

Maybe they didn't think they could get enough for him to make it worthwhile. I assumed they were cutting him for cap reasons, and the cut and resign deal saved them some space, though I don't know that for sure.

Also he is a beast during the season and he owns the Steelers...So he's overweight...no kidding the dude is a monster who doesnt like working out in the offseason. He'll play his way into shape.

The Raven's biggest problem, and reason they didn't make the Superbowl was this guy.

They took a lazy, overweight ex-probowler who was cut by the team that drafted him and managed to salavage a managable season out of him. And now he's obese as ever again. Ravens made a good play forcing the pay cut, but if he's the starter, I'd be worried as a Raven's fan. Guys are going to just be flying by him all season killing Rice and Flacco.

Wow... Lee Evans got fat. And tall.

Apparently it was McKinnie's fault Evans can't catch and Cundiff can't kick. No wonder they cut him.
