They're not so iconic.

I have no idea who A Picard is...and, he's the first guy listed.

Also, seeing Marie Curie as the lone female made me think of a certain Japanese film genre that rhymes with shiatake.  C'mon, who wouldn't want to see that?

Seriously, Fark?

You had to filter that? The beginning of the word is similar, but it's not spelled the same as the excrement.

Hey, Heisenburg was there.

/or was he?

Here's A Picard. Don't know if it's the one you wanted but it's a Picard.

Auguste Picard held two world records. One for being the human being having gone the highest (via hot air balloon) and another going to the lowest (via his invention of the bathyscaphe).

He was Belgian, and the inspiration for Professor Calculus in the Tintin books (Prof Tournesol in French). He was also a neighbour of my father, a young Belgian lad at the time. Which is why my family has the original B&W first editions Tintin books.

They misspelled his name, but amongst other things Auguste Piccard designed the bathyscaphe.

Gene Roddenberry named Captain Jean-Luc Picard in Star Trek after one or both of the twin brothers Auguste and Jean Felix Piccard, and derived Jean-Luc Picard from their names.

Schrödinger both is and isn't there until I check.

See? This is why I love Fark!

I like the B&W better. Also Einstein has man-boobs.

Nah, he seems to be in relatively good shape.

Pauli is excluding his gaze from the camera on principle.

I realize it's immature, but I picture Schrödinger and Heisenberg sitting down, smoking an enormous J, and saying "maybe the answer is MAYBE".

Except, y'know, in German.

Pic fails without Tesla.

The Repeated Meme: Pic fails without Tesla.

He was the one taking the picture. Tesla famously hated being in the spotlight...which is ironic, because he invented the spotlight in 1922 to win a bar bet.

I thought the statement about Cities being the only person two get two Nobels in different scientific fields was wrong but Pauling second was a Peace prize and Barden got two in physics... Slackers.

Curie* - stupid autocorrect.

He beat Edison to the punch and thereby monopolized the lucrative spotlight industry for years. Turns out battery operated spotlights just didn't catch on until Saddam Hussein deployed them in the desert where the Americans couldn't find them.

Depends on if you're looking at the photo or not.

Meh, too red in the skin and pavement. Should have a Fark PS contest for it.

He was there, but there's no way to know his momentum at the time.

The black and white photo is available. I'd like to see some PS wizards try their luck.

Schroedinger apparently was a pretty rad guy. The kind you could imagine having a spliff with and talking bollocks. Heisenberg on the other hand, not that kind of guy. Also hated Schroedinger intensely.
