bluenote13: Mizzou didn't want to go to the SEC. They wanted to go to the Big 10 but the B10 has some stupid idea that ND is going to come there and make all their problems all better. Mizzou, and A&M, were taken care of last year when UT said they were dropping the high school football games as part of the Longhorn Network and the Big 12 worked out a better plan for sharing bowl money. The next day, Oklahoma says they are still looking at the Pac12. At that point Mizzou and A&M decided "F**K this BS, we are out".

So, in the end it wasn't UT's fault (although they bear a big piece of the blame), or the SEC, or MU, or A&M. Had the idiots in Oklahoma kept their mouths shut, MU and A&M would still be in the BIG12.

Pretty much, yes. Missouri was chosen as chair of the Big XII committee after the Big Ten debacle as a show of faith. In that roll, Mizzou tried to get the conference to agree to a granting of media rights in order to prevent any future realignment issues. Texas, Oklahoma and A&M voted not and the motion failed. A few months later after having signed a new media deal with Fox/ESPN that required the conference to keep at least 10 teams, A&M tried to bolt. Baylor threatened to sue on the grounds that losing A&M would cause Oklahoma and Texas to leave, which promoted the SEC to vote against expansion. Before all of that could be resolved, Oklahoma tried to make a power play by jumping to the Pac-12 and forcing Texas to come along with them. That completely undermined baylor's legal argument which gave A&M cover to bolt and pissed off Mizzou. Unfortunately for Oklahoma, they overestimated their own importance. The Pac-12 didn't want them without Texas and Texas didn't want to give up the LHN, so the Pac-12 ultimately voted against expansion. At that point, Oklahoma stomped back into the Big XII and started making demands of everyone, at which point Mizzou said "Fark this" and walked.

I honestly never thought Mizzou would get into the SEC because I didn't know what they would bring to the SEC. Then I saw this graph:

and it all made sense.

Misconduc: Sounds like some fun ribbing before the big game. Gotta love the bleeding hearts who jump so quick to remove a billboard.

If by "bleeding hearts", you mean "soul-less corporate attorneys", you're correct:

Texas A&M University officials said they didn't authorize the sign. After sending a cease-and-desist letter alleging trademark infringement Tuesday afternoon, billboard owner Clear Channel replaced the billboard with a message advertising the company.

/you can be as obnoxious as you want, just don't use our logo or colors
//hey Mr. Nathan Crabbe, Staff writer - didn't they ever teach you about dangling modifiers in English class? That second sentence says that Clear Channel sent itself a C & D; that's just sloppy writing

"Best Academics"?

Much as I enjoy a good taunt at the Jort Brigade, US News tells me TAMU is 4th behind Vandy, UF and UGA.
