"I don't know why I wasn't asked to take part in some way," the 88-year-old Barker tells TV Guide Magazine. "But I do know I am ashamed of the show and surprised at their complete disregard for the welfare of animals.

Hmmm maybe it's because you treat animals with more respect than the women on your show....

Animals can't sue.

Plus, the show didn't really need him. It would look like the spectre of death was hovering in the background. And, it would have made the show The Bob Barker Show once again, instead of focusing on the contestants, who were all former winners.

Would have made it entirely too clear just how insufferably lame Drew Carey is, too

Why all the hate for Bob? I've always loved him and find his exclusion a pretty crummy thing to do. Did he do some awful thing I'm not aware about to earn him Farks wrath?

ol' Bob got more @$$ than a toilet at O'Hare

/give Drew a chance!

Whatever. Bob's better off without it. Really, Drew Carey, male models? Fark off.

"...So when the Calgary Stampede prize came up I didn't bother calling anyone there. I just went to the press and lashed out at the show every chance I could."

Yeah, it's a mystery, Bob. You got a real mystery on your hands.

FTA: "They previously gave away tickets to SeaWorld in Florida where the mistreatment of dolphins and whales is just unacceptable," he says. So when the Calgary Stampede prize came up I didn't bother calling anyone there. I just went to the press and lashed out at the show every chance I could. And I let everyone in Canada know how I felt."

Well, there's your problem.

Well, he's went full on PETA nutjob since his "retirement". Spay and Neuter your pets is a good message. Being the old man yelling at clouds about Sea World, and fighting Betty White over an elephant? Not as smart.

2012-09-04 05:41:10 PM
He ought to be on the show, maybe just briefly. I'm thinking save him for the very last second, and let him do the "Spay and Neuter Your Pets" line he used to do at the end of every show. He'd like doing that part, even if he's sort of peeved at the show in general. The anniversary show without him would actually draw more attention to his absence and his gripes than just letting him drop in and do a cameo. If he isn't there, everyone will be wondering "Why no Bob?" and giving it sort of a Streisand Effect that it would never have had if they'd have him on a wee bit. If he were on it, it'd be predictable anniversary show non-news.

Oh how I loved subliminal Bob in the last years of his dronedom.

/Damn, wish I could remember the time he slightly changed someones name to a derogatory name. Old Man brain fart of Bobs.
//Factual Bob: "Its my damn show and you contestants are nothing but a prop in my empire of shagging the models".
///Near the end, the show had to rotate Models to keep Bobs religious wiener from wringing the models bell to show he had won a moist prize.
////Damn hippies showing up on 'shrooms and pretending to be a skateboarding rabbi. NOT!.
//Drew Carry: A poster child for not exercising. Due to the two falling down accidents from jogging and fracturing his collar bone and dislocating his shoulder.
//Glad the biatch who tried turning the show into a variety gameshow was fired from CBS daytime.
//At least the contestants are smarter than a fifth grader.
//Quit praising jesus at the wheel, you ignorant twats.

I can't even stand to LOOK at Drew Carey's stupid, fat face. He never seems to say anything even remotely helpful or interesting--granted he's just a game-show host, but at least Bob had more individuality. Total womanizer, I hear. That's a shame.

I'd do a search for Bob Barker and out of court financial settlements with models from his show. Since they are out of court financial settlements, it's not like I can say "The guy's a perverted sleaze who was an a**hole to the women who worked there" but there is evidence he was.

It's not the "reach your hand in my pocket for $100" that is the problem, as far as I know. It's all about the models. Or was, at any rate. If half of what they claimed is/was true, he's a living example of why sexual harassment laws exist and those women were more than right to demand millions.

You can look at the evidence and decide for yourself. Shocking, I know. :)

My cousin was good friends with Rod Roddy. According to my cousin, Barker was a complete douche to all of the show staff that he wasn't trying to bang. He and Rod didn't speak a word to each other off camera for the last 10 years they were together. That might explain why nobody returned Barker's calls about the Sea World outrage perpetrated by the evil producers, and why he's not been invited to the 40th anniversary show.

Barker was also instrumental in making sure Roddy got no camera time at all in the last decade or so he was on the show, and continued the "no one but me gets to be on camera!" policy until he retired.

My problem with Drew is that he seems to just be going through the motions. It's almost as if he's being over-medicated. (It would also explain the weight loss.)

No matter, he's still a thousand times better on The Price Is Right than Wayne Brady is on Let's Make a Deal.
