Or, more likely, John Pertwee would be the one kicking arse. He was with Naval Intelligence in WW2, knew Judo and fencing. The guy was like James Bond playing the Doctor.

That's what I was wondering. She's played a much more memorable character --unlike Freema Angewhatever and Karen Gillan did in their first spots on the show.

So, I'm sure there's got to be at least a nod to Oswyn.
