Perhaps it's just a vain attempt to teach the RNC writers empathy and humanity?
"BEHOLD! You are terrified spending merely one night in this hotel. Others must live like this year round! Yea, do you not yet see the error of your ways?!"

Of course, if they were capable of introspection and humility and empathy, they wouldn't be NRO writers, but hey.

Says the boy who still believes that the money is getting ready to trickle down! Honestly! For REAL this time! I swear! Really! Just a few more tax breaks for multinational companies and the wealthiest! And the deficit will go down too if we do that, and increase defense spending more!

Wow. Go for the low-hanging fruit, eh?

Especially coming from someone who in their profile says they live in PA. Their state liquor board makes ours seem sane. Now excuse me, I'm going to go to my local grocery store and buy a single can of beer and a bottle of wine without having to use a breathalyzer.

All I know is that so far the DNC doesn't look nearly as fascist as what went on last week in Tampa. It looked like 1944 France up in this biatch last week.

I always thought our "not before noon on a Sunday" law was nuts, until I went to Massachusetts and realized this supposedly progressive state outlawed Sunday sales, period.

What kind of pussy journalists take accommodations and then biatch about them? They couldn't arrange it themselves?

Is there some security issue that required journalists covering it to go through the DNC? I don't see why NRO didn't book it themselves, on their own terms. I almost never hear of journalists covering shows like this not on their own company's dime. I go to Las Vegas every year for CES, and we book rooms in a hotel of the company's choosing, not the CEA's. Was all of Charlotte filled already that they couldn't handle it without logistics from the DNC?

It's an urban legend that you had to do all that to purchase alcohol. Most of the time the machine malfunctioned and you never got anything at all for your efforts.

I can only imagine how terrified Lourdes Garcia-Navarro would be if she were forced to stay at an Econo Lodge.

oppressive government regulations and having a federal minimum wage just made it too much of a burden for the job-creators to even bother. obamacare alone will triple the construction costs. obviously.

DeaH: So, NRO doesn't book its own travel arrangements? Since when does the DNC book travel for all the journalists who show up?

PanicMan: Wait, journalists are assigned hotels?

Thises.

I can only assume this is common practice for both the DNC and the RNC, but why in the f*ck is it their responsibility to book rooms for fatbloggers?

Can any journalists here weigh in? Is it common practice, for instance, for the NFL to book rooms for sports journalists at the Super Bowl? If so, why?

The writer knows this.... because... he bought an eight ball and got a handjob in the parking lot?

2012-09-04 09:35:59 AM
Why is the DNC even making hotel reservations for the press? Is this part of the organized press group, so they can get shuttled via bus together? (serious question)

Not serious question: Why are these right wing bloggers taking gifts from the DNC? Shouldn't they be doing this on their own?

No, the hand job was how he paid for the eight ball.

Odds are they just saw a bunch of poor people and freaked out.

Besides, I though an NRO reporter would be a bootstrappy tough guy who carries a gun and would be able to protect themself.

Personally if I saw I was booked to stay at a Knights Inn I would be on Priceline/Hotwire getting a decent room before I left. Not out of fear of poor people though, out of fear of bedbugs and other sanitary reasons. I thought everyone knew places with the "Knights Inn" branding are shiatholes, especially journalists who travel a lot.

2012-09-04 09:41:05 AM
Why is NRO even attending the DNC? They're just going to make shiat up anyway, surely they could do that at home.

Tsk, tsk. I guess NRO was expecting a hotel that was equivalent to the Waldorf-Astoria, a place of temporary rest that NRO richly deserves because of the fine, journalistic integrity that NRO represents in the world of political media.

Next time book your own hotel accommodations, you asshole.

I don't care. I'd rather vote for a man who understands the plight of the working class, and dabbles in hookers rather than a candidate who spends his evenings pulling his pud to Atlas Shrugged.
