So sayeth the "proud" sponsors of the GOP convention, which couldn't even half-fill the 18,000-seat hockey arena it had booked.

Unless you count Invisible Obama and the Invisible Democrats.

Romney just buys the job creators to make attendance from their workers mandatory. That's much better.

Fox News story that's bashing Obama? SHOCKING!

You'll get a more fair & balanced story about Obama from a KKK or Aryan Nations newsletter.

Subby is either an epic troll or a douche. I was ready to read something controversial and juicy about the Democrats for once and all I got was "Groups are organizing to bus in people to the event."

Silly Democrats. Don't you know buses are socialist?

Nonononono. Republicans can be job creators. Democrats just hand out welfare.

Clearly people on this thread don't understand what a Convention is about. The comparison is inapt.

Yeah. The media tried it's best to bullsh*t it's way through the convention with tight shots to portray a packed house, but it was almost impossible to crop out the seas of empty chairs in the stadium.

I'm sure it made Clint Eastwood think "Hmmmmmmmmmm.............I wonder........."

wrongo.

If you provide someone a service (paying for a bus ride) in exchange for them doing something (going to the event) it is considered payment.

Payment doesn't require a i9 or w2 or cash.

There was more people standing behind Chris Matthews during his show than the GOP had in it's convention hall. And just look at the diversity in that crowd (R)etards. That's the future of this country, not some old white dude arguing with an empty chair.

FTA: Elena Botella, a student at Duke University and president of the College Democrats of North Carolina, said her school was busing 100 students to the speech.

Lonnie Randolph, the president of the South Carolina chapter of the NAACP, said several large black churches in his state are planning to send busloads of members on Thursday to watch the president's speech.

The school and churches are doing this on their own, Subby, unlike some of Romney's supporters, who forced their employees to listen to Romney's bullshiat AND docked them a day's pay.

TFA: no mention of anyone getting paid.

People wanting to voluntarily attend Obama's convention speech being *gasp* transported there in some way?!?!?

THIS IS AN OUTRAGE!!!!

Fark threads would be much shorter if there weren't any posts complaining about having someone on ignore.

2012-09-03 07:08:50 PM
"Very few" people, huh subs? It didn't say how many people were pooling together in buses to come, but it could be that say 64,000 people are already coming, and they are busing in 10,000. Would 64,000 people be very few?

Now, if only 1,000 or 2,000 people were otherwise showing up, that would be "very few".

That, and as mentioned, I don't see anything about anyone being paid to be there.

yea, i noticed how small the Republican venue was. nice and cozy and missing quite a few folks. they can always blame Isaac though.

but in FOXLand, a huge outdoor stadium is empty if there patches of empty seats.

Sounds to me like the campaign/the DNC made a thoughtful decision to accommodate folks who wished to see the speech in person while not attending the convention, and chose their venue accordingly.

/omg soshulisms!!
