Having watched the trailer, I see the problem - I wanted to go see it, but I marked down Oogust 29th as the opening date, not August 29th.

/Don't know what I'll do when all my friends show up next Oogust for the premier party

These are apparently Oogieloves. And for some bizarre reason, Cary Elwes, Christopher Lloyd, Cloris Leachman, Jamie Pressly, Chazz Palminteri and Toni Braxton were all in this movie. o.O

True, but Pat's numbers were for 33 screens. Oogielove was showing on 2160.

Didn't we just have an article about Cloris Leachman doing things only for the money?

Apparently the movie has those "interactive" moments like in Blue's Clues or Dora The Explorer. The producer thought that those concepts could work in a feature film after going to a screening of Maeda Goes To Jail and seeing how the audience talked to the screen the entire movie.

Just think about that.

On a per screen basis It's Pat actually did much better: $950 per theater vs. Oogie's $207 per theater.

$950.61 per theater is a better per-theater performance than is $207 per theater.

Perhaps one is in order for Cary Ewes as well.

Well, if T.P. had put his name on it, maybe it wouldn't be doing this badly. Badly, yes. Just not this badly.

That's what happens when you make a movie for kids that looks on the surface like a sequel to Meet the Feebles.

INCONCEIVABLE!

Seriously though, I saw all those names at the top of the ad in the paper the other day and was like "WTF is this shiat?". Then I just felt vaguely sad for everyone involved.

This may be a stupid question, but if you sell no tickets are you still required to play the film? I admit this could be a stupid question.

You realize that you could have shown a bestiality snuff film and sold at least one ticket, right?

2012-09-03 06:30:13 PM
The only reason I was aware this movie was coming out was because it was shown as a preview during Paranorman, which I took my kids to.

Newsflash: Parents of toddlers do not go to movies unless they are appropriate for toddlers. Those parents that bring their toddlers to inappropriate movies will not spend money to take their kids to an age-appropriate movie.

Advertise somewhere else.

Husband used to be a theater mgr a few years ago... He said no... if you don't sell a ticket, you don't have to play the film
