No! "Semi-Carnally!"

I volunteer to fark her and come back here and tell everyone what it's like having sex with a "bag of antlers" like her.

You may be right - I was actually going to mention that in the popout, but whatever.

the801: i bet her BMI is on the low side of normal. and not even way on the low side.

now that fat and heavily painted is the new normal, guys see a healthy girl without makeup and are all 'ewww'. it's sad.

and her legs are skinny, and yet the most of the pictures in the article are of her doing leg exercises. as in, trying to bulk them up. still, weight wise, i'm pretty sure she's in the 'healthy' range of BMI.

Complete and utter nonsense. As someone who actually works in the health field, I guarantee there is no way in hell she's even close to the lowest range of her BMI. Not even close. She has most of the physical characteristics of emaciation. Looking at the older pics of her, it's downright depressing.

But hey, thanks for the usual wackadoo pro-ana talking points.

It seems like some actresses, when they hit a certain age, go the exercise like crazy route.

Madonna and Cameron Diaz come to mind as examples.

It's not the same though, young girls are soft.

It must really suck to be an actress. Right at the point when you have enough experience to really hone your craft, you're not nubile enough to get the parts anymore.

Tickle Mittens: If I had to guess, it's because she finds cellulite unattractive, enjoys the endorphin high from extraordinary fitness, or has some sort of dire medical condition which her routine controls.

There is nothing "extraordinarily fit" about being emaciated and underweight. In terms of health risks and mortality this is actually very similar to morbid obesity. Women as thin as JC are prone to hormone and immune deficiency, osteoporosis, anemia and alopecia, and are just as likely to die young as an obese person.

Look it up. Educate yourself for god's sake.

She was perfect 20 years ago, through normal living she'd still be super hot.

But she's not. Oh well.

Cymbal: Only time I've wanted to fark her was after seeing the ass2ass scene. Other than that, she is just another semi-attractive chick who needs some serious eyebrow maintenance.

Really? Because the above "good times" Jennifer Connelly is pretty much perfection, imo.

Hollywood would be odious enough without urging breathtaking women like Teri Hatcher and Jennifer Connely to ruin their bodies. Always so sad when you find out the monster got another one.

I don't buy the notion that Hollywood is making these women starve themselves. Who's popular right now? Christina Hendricks...she's like 175-180lbs. Scarlet Johanson and Kat Dennings are rocking the funbags and no one is complaining. And I sure don't see any straight men complaining about girls who aren't coat hangers. I think women and maybe their gay fashion designers are their own worst enemies.

Curvy Connelly is best Connelly.

And now she's long gone, along with my youth.

which is why BMI is a stupid metric. it only counts height and weight.

It rules that THIS GUY is morbidly obese.
[tnation.t-nation.com image 281x430]

/BMI is retarded

Do most people with obese BMIs look like that?

If you randomly sampled the population for 100 people, what fraction would look like that guy?

BMI is overused (such as in e.g. health insurance checks), but the people who gripe about it the most usually have high body fat.

There's more to it than that...it's a kind of Body Dysmorphic Disorder that goes along with it. These women look at a mirror and actually see themselves as huge fat bloated monsters even when they've got those concentration-camp knees. I read an article about anorexia, and in one exercise, a therapist had an anorexic girl draw her outline on a piece of paper--the girl's own estimate of how big her outline was. Then the therapist had her lie down and traced around her body, showing the real outline inside the fat huge one the girl drew.

And THEN the girl refused to believe the smaller outline was really her, that the therapist was faking it or drew underneath her or something. This girl believed she was really hugely fat, and nobody would convince her otherwise. Seems to me the same thing is going on with these horrible, bony celebrities. They can look at pictures like these and think "Wow, I really look great!"

WTF. This woman has been my first, and one of my only, celeb crushes. Started when I saw her in Dark City as a teenager, and has flowed forth ever since. Love the soft eyes, the curves, the voice...gonna go cry in a corner now.

"the ass-to-ass scene from Requiem for a Dream"

OK, that's weird. This is the second reference I've heard to this scene this week, and it was described exactly the same way on the podcast I was listening to at the time. They were riffing on the best sex scenes ever recorded on film.

And again I'm left wondering: how the hell do two people have sex ass-to-ass?

2012-09-03 01:12:06 AM

By putting a double headed dildo in the middle. If you still don't understand, google image search will be enlightening.

Also whoever thought that was the best sex scene is a bit odd, as the character is forced into prostitution to support a heroin habit. It's filmed in such a way as to be as creepy as possible

Yeah, pretty much nothing sexy about that movie at all.

AdolfOliverPanties: Anorexia. She is showing a lot of the signs. Sucks.

If that wasn't 'shopped, it could also be cortisol damage from extreme exercising, Ever noticed how most professional runners look so gaunt and sickly when compared to other athletes? That is because they do so much strain and stress damage to their body, it is in a constant state of cortisol overload, which when combined with the continuous exercise, results in the muscle and collagen breaking down and wasting away. Runners who were otherwise considered "very healthy" have actually dropped dead at this stage, because their hearts failed... from the tissue breakdown. I think it may even lead to a psychological component that continues to drive the obsessive behavior, and would like to see more research on this subject.

Put me in the camp that a young and chubby Jennifer was far better looking than the allegedly healthy and gaunt one. Losing a little weight never hurt anybody, but that's just sad. Yes, I know that beauty fades and we all get old, but damn, some curves help soften the ageing look: the creases and wrinkles look far worse without the filler :(
