What do you expect from an industry that tells women that size 6 is "plus." And then goes on praising that "plus sized" actress for being brave enough to be "fat" in Hollywood.

Mind you, male actors don't have it much better. If you are comedic actor who doesn't mind playing only "schlub" roles, then you can be as big as you want. But if you want to be a leading man, you must have washboard abs and the body fat index of .03% at all times. Otherwise, it's "schlub" roles for you, tubby. I bet there are many eating disorders among male actors but it is never discussed because no one can believe it or it is not seen as "manly."

I don't think this is her problem, but if you have totally out-of-control diabetes (some people with type I, for example, but obviously not all), sometimes the only thing you can do is exercise as much as possible just to keep your blood sugars managable.

We had a guy in my old lab who had type I and type II diabetes, and when he wasn't working (and sometimes passing out from a crash, or being hyper-agro and spacey from a high) he was at the gym either lifting or on the bike to get the sugar out of his system. Poor guy, but he was buff as hell.
