Gene Chizik is not a good coach. He got Cam Newton there so auburn won a national championship. Get ready for a huge backslide.

After Clemson's bowl season, I'm not too surprised they came out fighting.
They may stomp a mudhole in a few folks this season.

A team that is supposed to contend for the ACC title beat a team that will be lucky not to finish in last place if the sec? Its a loss for the ACC that it was so close and if not for a few missed tackles appears it could have been a loss.

They won't have to be lucky to beat Ole Miss but I guess I'm just arguing semantics.

I thought it was generally agreed that while the top 2-3 of the SEC is the class of college football every year, the rest of the conference is pretty meh. So #14 Clemson should have beaten an average Auburn team.

I wonder if they were chanting SEC! SEC! SEC! in rge stands like they were at the Bama game?

that was a game clemson was supposed to win. auburn played pretty well and they may upset a better team or two in conference play

Given this was just week one, I think Winston Wolf said it best when he told Vincent & Jules; "Let not suck each other's xxxxx just yet.."

Good win against a better than average team, but there are 12 more games to play (including the ACCCG). Auburn should finish higher than at least the two Mississippi teams in the SEC west IMO.

Auburn is a 4-win team this year. Nice try, ACC.

I think you are giving auburn too much credit when saying they are better than average, they are average at best and will be lucky to finish .500 this year.

Nobody has ever said this on Fark, we have said the sec is tougher than the other conferences and that is true.

The facts say .500, the best I have seen for them is 7-5 with one even saying under .500 and that chizik could have the shortest career of any coach that won a NC.

I think he has to finish with at least 8 wins this year and improve on that next year to keep his job, auburn people didn't want him anyways so he has to really watch his back.

Slow down with that "without a doubt". Kentucky is simply an awful football program, and at this point in time, shows little hope of improvement. They can't recruit competitively with the rest of the SEC, and because of that, going .500 in conference play would be a minor miracle.

//Kentucky fan, ONLY because I went there.

With all due respect, predictions before the season are not "facts" they are educated guesses. Now I will grant you, the prognosticators are pretty accurate when you look at ther total body of work. That being said, looking at Auburn's schedule IMO there are six games they should win, four games (including last night) that most likely will lose and two games (Texas A&M and Georgia) as toss ups (Texas A&M because I've not seen them play and UGA b/c its a rivalry game).

Look, my interest in Auburn ended around 10:45 pm last night, what happens to Chizik will not cause me any sleepless nights.

Usually the experts are right or at the least close and the UGA game is a definite loss after watching that game.

And I didn't even realize they put 3 cupcake teams on their schedule, so that's probably 3 wins for sure and ole piss as a guarantee.

Ah, the same, tired fallback argument of SEC fans.

When any -- any -- team from the SEC wins, it's always, "Go SEC!!! SEC is teh awesomeest!!!" But, whenever any team from the SEC loses, the mantra quickly becomes, "Yeah, but THAT SEC team is teh suck, so it doesn't count."

You can't have it both ways, fans of every school in the SEC other than LSU and Bama (or Florida when Urban Meyer ran the show). If you're going to cheer for your conference, you're going to have to take some flack when your conference gets beaten by a lowly opponent from another conference. Otherwise, just acknowledge what everyone else already knows: The top of the SEC (i.e., Bama and LSU) is fantastic. Everyone else ranges from "good" to "meh" to "bottom feeder."

The ESPN-manufactured "GO SEC" chant needs to die already. I'm a UGA alum/fan. I don't want to see UF or UT to do well, let alone do I want to ever actually cheer for them.

Yeah, I should have been more specific. I didn't mean to drag Fark into the pile of dogshiat that is most sports forums. This place is actually pretty darn good about that stuff. That's why I like hanging around in the Saturday CFB threads if I'm at home watching the game. It got a little hand right after the Florida-OSU championship game, but I suppose that is to be expected with a scoreline like that in a NCG.

you are a joke steaming pile of shiat. You should be more worried about the inability of thUGA's defense to stop a small team like Buffalo at home.

Auburn was expected to lose this game. New QB and coordinators and still AU had a chance to win but could not put together a drive when it needed in the fourth quarter.

/Auburn will finish 3rd in West behind Bama and LSU, which the same place thUGA will finish in the East

I've been saying it for years, if you guys would quit biatching about SEC homerism it wouldn't even be an issue on this site. It IS funny though, that the majority of the biatching about supposed SEC homers seems to come from ohio state fans. It's also cute how it always seems to come back to how much smarter you guys supposedly are, and how anyone who DARES disagree with your supposed intellectual superiority just has to be a troll.

Maybe some of the fans of SEC teams on this site should just start chanting SEC! SEC! like you claim we already do. I mean if you're gonna biatch about it, it might as well be justified.

LOL I guess it's a good thing a final score isn't just based on first half stats then huh? Seriously that's all you have, is the score at the 50% portion of the game wasn't to your expectations. And can you even quote one UGA fan who says anything about an almost 40 year old championship? We aren't dallas cowboys fans.

You know what could have spared us all from this little hurr durr little diatribe of yours? Some very basic reading comprehension. Let me help you:

Now go away, you're a sad Tatsuma level retard that no one cares to engage in discussion. Go threadshiat somewhere else. No one was talking to you, no one wants to talk to you. You'd think the huge number of people that flat out ignore you would be a clue.

LOL so you biatch about SEC homerism and how we're a bunch of sub 70 IQ retards, yet no one gets to call you out on it. Hell you should be sat down in front of a kid with Down's Syndrome or severe autism and let them biatchslap you just for the amount of times you've used the word "retard" in this thread alone. You don't get to biatch about threadshiatting when you and fans of the team you go for constantly do it. Next time, why not call out an ohio state fan crying about SEC homerism so none of us have to listen to it.

Also, who the hell died and made you Fark Dork Grand Master of college football threads, ordering people around like you're some kinda boss. Ya know, for someone who is supposedly my intellectual superior, and who has insider information on how many people have me on ignore, you'd think making those two clicks of a mouse for your account would be a no brainer.
