When the Chinese send you a kitten, you keep it.

2012-09-01 07:13:32 PM
Damn, it is dusty in here. I wonder if it suffered significant brain damage?

I like cats and all but why ask for an EXTRA 1000 crazy cat lady comments?

Coelacanth: When the Chinese send you a kitten, you keep it.

Thirty minutes later, you'll just want another.

It keeps them at home on their computers instead of forcing us to have to interact with them in the real world.

At least the odds of it being eaten have now swung in it's favor.

Cats can survive 3 weeks without food or water?

I have a very difficult time processing that possibility - It does not seem likely or possible.

Wait until they try to find that lost cat, they will confuse all of those Chinese people.

Haven't they been doing this for years since we let them into the WTO ?

Well, I am not surprised. The last wife that I bought was in a container for a month. My cat smelled better than she did.

Without food, not a problem. Without water? Yeah that is not possible.

I missed the morning thread.

If anyone is around Ryazan, Russia, please keep an eye out for a lost cat.
He was let out of the dacha by my friend's parents when she was out of town.

Her father was a Soviet Paratrooper. There are a bunch of Retired Soviet Officer / Badaskis running through the woods saying "Here kitty, kitty, kitty, kitty!"

In the original article the theory was put forth that he was licking the condensation that formed on the storage container's walls.

Why didnt't the ships crew keep it?

libranoelrose: Why didnt't the ships crew keep it?

The kitten needs a lot of care and as the article stated, might be a special needs cat for the rest of its life. I'm sure they'd try, but taking care of a special needs cat takes a lot of time and patience. Ship crew members would probably not have the time to give the kitten the level of care it needs, whereas an adoptive family can.

Yes, we know the cat's father was a Soviet Paratrooper, the camouflage pattern makes this obvious :-)

/ Good luck, I hope the cat is safe

ArkAngel, am saddened to hear of Gavin's departure. Condolences for both you & your ex.
Secondary Caturday threads tend not to draw the attention & number of comments the primary one does. Some of us who Go There do notice when a second one materialises.

That would probably be enough for a little kitten. Also, can cats estivate? It might have slowed his metabolism down enough to reduce fluid needs.

Kind of. It's a followup to a Caturday thread featuring the stowaway kitten back on July 21st.

Kelly, Kelly, Jelly Belly is a handsome cat.

CSB:

Not long after we got married my wife was talking to her grandmother on the phone, she was worried because their indoor/outdoor cat that sometimes disappeared for a couple of days had been gone longer than usual and she was concerned that he met his end in the woods. Fast forward: Two weeks after the cat disappeared grandma went to get something from the third floor cedar closet of their big old house. Yup. She hadn't noticed the cat followed her in the last time & it never occurred to her to check there. Apparently he was severe pissed at his people for quite a while after that.

Not too surprising. Some cats, just as some people, will hold a grudge for quite awhile.

She's absolutely adorable. Unfortunately I know diddly squat about captioning, but if you visit our regular weekly Caturday thread and make your request, there are several fine folks who will be more than happy to assist you.

If you're new to Caturday, the weekly thread goes live on the main page at 8 a.m. ET each Saturday morning. All pet loves are welcome too. You can post pictures of your pet cats, dogs, birds, fish, ferrets, goats, lizards, snakes, etc. We have several Caturday regulars who foster too.

Most recent arrival of our 10, count 'em 10, Feline Overlords, Piiki. She played feral for we don't know how long, began hanging around here shortly after we took in GangOf5 syndactyl kittens (3.5 wks old at time, 2 male, 3 female). Syndactyl is fused toes, you all sorta know polydactyl as extra toes.
