David Tennant's going to host?

What I'd like to see is a mash-up of Iron Chef and Kenny Blankenship's Extreme Elimination Challenge. THAT would be entertaining.

Worthless without Kaga and Ota Faction.

This is the show that made me fall in love with cooking as an art form. Have Gordon Ramsay be one of the first challengers.

Does that mean we can bring back the Iron Photoshop Challenge?

I think they killed off Kaga after the series ended, and had a special show where they named new Iron Chefs. But I think that was over 10 years ago now.

paj: Trout ice-cream ftw

Anytime a chef, especially Sakai, went to the ice cream machine, there was danger afoot.

Trout was good, but how about squid ink ice cream? However, my favorite was soft roe ice cream. "Soft roe" is a gentle way of saying "fish sperm". Making the giggly actress eat sperm is just *so* Japanese.

Why is this on the anime news network? New Iron Chef going to have tentacles?

Actually, most likely, yes, given the likelihood that Octopus and Squid will be used as ingredients.

I for one look forward to the return of Lobster Brains as a regular ingredient on Iron Chef.

Went to her restaurant at Disney World a couple weeks after it opened. Lamb Shank was sub par, none of the waiters knew the new menu, and they didn't even have a drink list. I had to make a list of cognacs i wanted and have the waitress go look to see what they had. Out of all the food network personality's restaurants I've been too, its on the bottom of the list.

Don't care unless someone's making some squid-ink ice cream.

OK, actually I do care, I don't IC America, it takes itself to serious I think.

Get out of my mind, brother (or sister)! My thoughts exactly.

Oh well, I was planning on getting Dish TV with the Japanese pack anyway... guess this is one more reason.

Just as long as it stays true to the original and doesn't lose its essential nature of alllllmost edging into tongue in cheek while unfailingly being earnest.

That may be the excuse they use, but they had tentacle porn for hundreds of years before they had to worry about those odd censorship laws.

Mrs Crotchgrabber is named Brooke. When Iron Chef had a "battle Brooke trout" episode she got a new nick name.

It's late. I'm a farker. I've been drinking. ..

Iron chef is awesome.

If you're an Iron Chef fan, this is the site to go. The only thing keeping me from getting them all is hard drive space (a good 1 TB drive should hopefully do the trick). The site doesn't update very often, however.

I love that Chairman Kaga in the original show was a major stage actor in Japan - he actually played Jean Valjean in Les Mis - here's a video of him singing "When Tommorrow Comes" in Japanese with 17 other nations' Jeans for the show's anniversary.

Neither, if I remember correctly, they're some kind of consomme jelly type things.

One of the most wtf? tangents to Iron Chef is that regular judge Shinichiro Kurimoto runs a website called Homopants.
