Okay, enjoy the rest of the games, everyone! I'm off to stuff my face and drink soda (apparently). :)

Miller is going beast mode in the 2nd quarter. 6 yard gain on a fumble + recovery and then a huge 30 yard run.

Straight up or against the spread? I assume you mean against the spread, because I'm pretty sure you're capable of doing better than 50% straight up.

If someone has a computer program that does better than 50%, consistently, against the spread, Vegas would like to have a word with them.

Slow To Return: steamingpile: Slow To Return: steamingpile: You do realize a shiatload if college fans have absolutely zero connection to their chosen team over here too, right?

Now you're arguing just to argue.

Actually that's a fact, just find any beat up pick up with a Florida sticker then ask when they attended.

Again, going back to the point of trying to sell the college game overseas... That guy with the beat up pick up truck at least usually LIVES in Florida.. Saying you have to have gone to Florida to be a Gators fan is like saying you have to have gone to Atlanta to be a Falcons fan.

Well if you've ever flown Delta you've been to Atlanta. And there are Florida stickers around us and there is no reason for that other than Hicks that like jorts.

I'm not saying it would make foreigners huge football fans but it relates easier to the same style. God dammit I did it again, I'm not talking about it any longer but I stand by the statement the game is more fun while the NFL seems like it plods along.

Live in farm country. Nothing but fertilizer, seed, and equipment ads on TV. Crop reports on the radio too.

Seeing as how there is a discussion about pulling for a team where you didn't attend college let me give you a CSB: I grew up in Knoxville. A lot of my friends went to UT. My dad was a fan and on weekends we would go driving through the mountains listening to the games on the radio. Hence I'm a huge UT fan. I ended up going to and now working for a college that isn't UT but had a better program in what I wanted to do. The college I work for now doesn't even have a football team. There are various reasons people pick a favorite college team, but you don't have to go to the college to be part of the football community. I'm not sure you would get that overseas. The guys in the UK I know who are football fans usually are gamblers who like to bet on the games since there are more points scored than in soccer games so they see it as more fun.

If it would make you happy I would join just to pick the underdog ever week, I don't care=I don't feel like wasting time inputting stats but I will waste time here during the afternoon one day. I would bet you spent a lot more time developing your system and having to input numbers than I have spent on a college Saturday.

Enjoy your soda.

Taking a time out while the home team is running off, then running the QB for 30 yards for stat padding's sake? Ya, good luck in the 2nd half, Ohio. You're gonna get your ass kicked.

That's my point, I had a 50-50 shot at getting that right. One pick off will make you a tick higher or lower, the average person does not have the time to pick winners with more consistency. Now adding in point spreads may be interesting but indifference still rules.

See, that's weird because I like gambling on soccer. The possibility of a draw makes it more interesting to me, and you get crazy money lines sometimes.

Wolves are two levels above Northampton Town and were still +120 to win this week in the Carling Cup. That's a great line for a prohibitive favorite.

Well at 20 games a week for 13 weeks it was more like 26 games over .500 but fine just diminish my accomplishment. It still made me close to $600 on a $5 entry fee!

It would have been a beautiful day in Corvallis for the Beavs season opener against Nicholls State, but that dumb hurricane knocked it off the schedule and spoiled my plans for the day.

Oh, well--it's still a beautiful day and football is back and even Lou Holtz's overly-juicy delivery is wonderful.

Thanks BTN, the screen went black on the last play of the half. Ohio State was trying to get a touchdown against Miami and it went black. Too bad Ohio State didn't get the touchdown.

I wouldn't do it either. I hate having to pull for teams I don't like just because I picked them. I'm not even going to do it again with the chance of a reward. And holy Christ. The way Georgia is playing they could actually lose this game if thy give up a score here and it looks like at least a field goal.
