Yesterday:
Mainz 05 0:1 Greuther Fürth: Fürth celebrated the first Bundesliga win in their history against a Mainz team that may be in serious risk of relegation.

Today:
Schalke 04 - FC Augsburg: Schalke is looking to break through to elite status with Dortmund and Bayern. Should have little trouble with Augsburg, a mid-table team at best.

Bayer Leverkusen - SC Freiburg: Leverkusen is another team with European ambitions, trying to shake off a surprise loss last week to returnee Frankfurt. Freiburg looks to improve from a lackluster draw against a weak Mainz team.

Werder Bremen - Hamburger SV: Bremen was outplayed for most of a 2:1 loss to Dortmund, but should recover against a weak Hamburg squad.

FC Nürnberg - Borussia Dormund: The champions look to build on the late-goal win against Bremen (and block out the reaming they got in the Champions league draw), while Nürnberg moves up in class after the win against HSV.

1899 Hoffenheim - Eintracht Frankfurt: Both teams are question marks this year. Hoffenheim lost last week to a superior Mönchengladbach team, while Frankfurt wants to prove that their year in the second league was a fluke.

Fortuna Düsseldorf - Borussia Mönchengladbach: Düsseldorf celebrated their return to the top flight with a win at Augsburg, but will face a tougher test against their Niederrhein rivals from down the A44.

Sunday:
VfL Wolfsburg - Hannover 96: Hannover comes off a respectable draw with Schalke, while Wolfsburg had a big win at Stuttgart. Both teams have hopes of reaching the Europa League.

Bayern München - VfB Stuttgart: The boys from Bayer blew out newcomers Fürth last week, but might have more of a test against inconsistent Stuttgart.

Because it's the f-bomb without the U. Although I wasn't sure at first if you meant Kaiserslautern or Köln.

Well, I hope that Frankfurt can indeed find a way to stay in the first league this year. If they finish the fall with 18 points I'd be happy. Stealing 3 last week and a decent shot at some this week puts them well on the way.

/Also a Clevleland fan. I should be used to disappointment

As experienced in 2001, I'd be happy if that happened in the last 4 minutes of the season.

Same here, well played. Compared to last week they looked improved. In two weeks we meet the other Borussia.

Hoffenheim sucking royally also made my day, just too bad it was vs. Frankfurt

Sorry mate. I had to leave the computer. Great game though! Basti scored which is going to be a major psycological boost as he gets back to 100% fitness.

I don't know about the others, but I have no problem with people discussing 2. Bundesliga in here.

@Kaiser, yeah it was great to see Basti doing well, you could tell he wasn't ready last season to come back in, but he should be getting there.

I don't think he's totally back yet. A few misplaced passes and he said in an interview that he's tired from the game. But he had lots of moments where he was untouchable in the midfield. I think he's finally on the road to recovery.

He's definitely on the road, I didn't watch the post-match interviews but I bet he's just got to get his cardio back up. He was in peak shape before his set of injuries, so it's going to be a big change until he gets back into that shape.

I just read an interview on goal.com. He said he was tired, but happy to score the goal.

Yeah he was very fit until the broken collarbone. That was the start of this mess. I give him another two months before we see the Basti we all know and love. Until then expect Kroos and Martinez to be playing defensive midfield. Kroos can dictate play like a boss. Once he found his shoes in that position, I thought he really excelled.
