The design consultancy has developed a design concept for an innovative series of gaming accessories of which the first product,the Level 10 M Mouse,will be launched in spring 2012.

As a Think Tank of BMW Group the design consultancy DesignworksUSA works for many industries with only one aim: to transfer design know how between cultures, markets and industries in order to come up with the most innovative,forward thinking and consumer oriented design solutions. In 2009 Thermaltake,the leader and innovator of pro-gaming computer chassis,for the first time partnered with the wholly owned BMW Group subsidiary. The studio had been tasked with the design concept of the Level 10 high end gaming tower. The result was a chassis which triggered off a lot of praise from the IT and pro-gaming world and many awards for its sheer revolutionary approach to computer housing. Now the collaboration continues with the expansion of the Level 10 experience to a range of gaming peripherals for Thermaltake ´s e-sports division.

For the upcoming range of Level 10 accessory products DesignworksUSA challenged Thermaltake with most progressive design concepts. They aim at extending the Level 10 experience of the chassis to products that gamers directly interact with. The first product to be launched out of the new series of gaming peripherals is the Level 10 M Mouse. It will give testimony to the delicate thinking of the designers when applying the Level 10 design language to additional products. For the designers this task meant to extend the Level 10 gaming experience to all the gamers' senses. Facing the challenge of translating the design language of the expressive geometrical Level 10 chassis onto products which by nature require ergonomic design solutions the design team came up with an array of innovative solutions to provide pro-gamers with products that speak the Level 10 design language but still provide them with the most pleasant and comfortable equipment for heavy use.

Having used both myself, I can say WTF are you talking about. are you swinging the mouse around your head like a WII controller? I have never had the Mouse get "caught" on something. If your going to poo poo a product, at least have a legitimate gripe.

My Logitech g9x is the best mouse I've ever owned.. These overly complicated mice are stupid..

I literally cannot count how many times I have been playing BF3 wile in a gunner position in a Cobra/Havoc and all of a sudden the pilot stops steering and we crash into a mountain or the ground. And irritatingly enough - it is all ways the GOOD pilots who have wireless mice. Get a good strafing run in and I'm thinking (6-7 kills) "This guy is awesome!" Then a few seconds afterwards - nose first into the ground.

Yep.. I owned 1 wireless mouse and it was enough of a burden I never once thought about ever purchasing one again and threw it away. The battery life was great for about.... The length of the return policy of the store I bought it from.. Then it would discharge with the quickness. Then it got to the point where I couldn't just casually place it on the charger and had to balance it like I was playing farking Jenga just so the contact points would line up just right. Then I'd wake up the next morning and see it stopped charging for no farking reason in the middle of the night and I had a mouse with like 10% battery life left.

I'm sure it'll look good covered in orange cheetoh stains.

Wow, and it's not wireless. Go BMW. Depending on how expensive this is, I might buy it - if it's available where I live. I like collecting mice and keyboards.

I've never liked anything wireless. My Razer Naga can be used either way, and it's way less of a pain in the arse when in wired mode. Granted, I mostly use my trackball these days. It's so old that it's beige, and still uses a PS/2 connector. Trackballs are awesome. I was looking at an M570, but when I saw there wasn't a wired version, I said no thanks.

Hopefully they build better mice than cars. My 2001 330ci, in 4 years that I've owned it has:

Had the engine replaced.(!)
Had the radiator replaced.
Had the fuel pump replaced.

Those were all separate events. Don't get me wrong, when it's running its a great car to drive, but the thing has been a damned money pit.

Yeah but winning and losing doesn't mean anything in TF2. Not really anyway. Most of the stat tracking is all about personal achievements, and you don't need to stick around a whole match to get XP because there is no XP grind.

I have the SWTOR edition Naga. The game itself kinda sucked, but the mouse itself sure looks nice. The side buttons took some getting used to, but it's a pretty nice piece of equipment. Not awesome enough to replace my old trackball completely, but nice.

Yeah, I've used my share of wireless mice in the years (two Logitech MX500 and a MX1000) and never once saw the LED warning me about the battery. This would be due to the fact that I have larger hands than a child and couldn't even see the LED while playing a game. I've since fallen in love with my G9 that I can balance to my own desire and don't have to worry about people in the game hearing "Oh why isn't my mouse workin-... DANG YOU BATTERIES!!!"

Trackballs have an incredible learning curve but once you've figured them out....

G9 user here as well. I liked it so much I bought a second one to use at work.

The BMW/Thermaltake mouse here looks interesting, but I don't typically rest my palm on my mouse - I hold it with the tips of my fingers - so sweaty hands aren't usually a problem. Guess we'll see once the tech specs and price come out.

The Razr DeathAdder has been the most comfortable mouse Ive ever used. I dont really play PC games beyond Portal and Civ IV but it fits perfectly in my hand for everyday tasks. I typically use the magic trackpad on my iMac because of all the gestures needed to have a decent workflow, but some things are just easier and more efficient to use a mouse for.

Miss WDS bought it for me a few years ago when I was playing more WoW. The quality of the mouse itself is shiat though. The finish is coming off of the top. The buttons aren't nearly as tight as they used to be either.

Gonna have to get a new mouse in the semi-near future.

I know what you mean and I was extremely sad when my MX518 gave up the ghost on me. I tried looking for a new MX518 and was dubious about the M400, but they really did manage to reproduce the MX518 in all it's glory and improve on it slightly.

One thing they didn't fix was the raised "logitech" logo that is on the "palm" of the mouse. I masked off the circular logo with masking tape and sanded and polished that logo away. Luckily the logo is some kind of metal and takes a sanding and polishing very well. That whole logo circle on mine is a shiny smooth metal plate now. :)

I have a black Microsoft mouse. It matches my laptop. I doubt anyone cares.
