The storyline of the MGS series is convoluted and weird, and the point of the game is to sneak around and keep open fighting to a minimum. Neither of these things will translate to any sort of Hollywood big-budget movie, and what you'll end up with is a standard shoot-em-up featuring a guy with a bandana and Baysplosions.

I'm cautiously excited. Anyone who's played through a MGS game knows they can do cinematic sequences well.

But, for the love of god (gods) ... DO NOT produce a film based on MGS4. The Beauties were kinda neat, but the whole plane-house concept and Sunny and "look who isn't dead ... again!" pissed me off.

Don't get me started about Snake's final scenes in the graveyard ... or the final final scenes made after test audiences got pissed at the supposedly final scene.

Funny thing is that Yar's Revenge had a little comic-book backstory that might, in the hands of the right screenwriter, make a decent movie.
