I'm going authentic with Mrs. Paul's and Bird's.

And, by "Mrs. Paul's and Bird's," I really mean "Gin."

I had a TARDIS on top of my wedding cake.

That has to be 'shopped.

Because if it isn't, then my mind couldn't cope with that much awesomeness in one picture.

It's not. He's a hardcore Whovian.

If you listen to his interview on the Nerdist this week, he talks about it. That was a great interview.

Wtf subby? You linked to the actual content? On the actual page? Not a two sentence blurb on some gawker site with a link to the actual content buried past some random video?

Thats not how we do things around here. ಠ_ಠ

/no, seriously, thank you for that

I would be all for this if Alton Brown wasn't such an anti-gay Bible thumper. Doesn't he hate River Song and Jack Harkness by default then?

My mom and sister are at Dragon*Con this weekend, so I'm sure there'll be a big to-do like last year.

Ah, the WHARRGAARBL POLITICS/RELIGION post that is almost required at this point.

If more 'religious' people were like Alton and actually used their religion to supplement, rather than
replace, their intellect, this world would be a much better place.

I'm doing the sweeter version of this - ladyfingers for the 'fish fingers'. Also, I'm making jammie dodgers in the morning, noms.

It's gonna be awesome :)

Personally, I'm sick of everything coming down to a battle on politics and religion.

Am I supposed to burn my UHF DVD because Victoria Jackson stars in the movie?

/would rather drink from THE FIREHOSE!
//Too bad Good Eats is over. He could have done a Doctor Who episode.

naughtyrev: I had a TARDIS on top of my wedding cake.

That is very cool.
We have a closet in the basement that looks really small, but the back of it opens into the laundry room so it is bigger on the inside. (It was here when we bought the house, I have no idea what its actual purpose is, a secret exit from the laundry room?) We painted the door to look like the TARDIS. Nobody seems to 'get it'.

Can't wait to see what he and the Mythbusters have cooked up (ha!).

Where did his odd religious habits come into this? Citation needed.

I say this without animosity: Issac Newton was an alchemist and a bible-number-code-fanatic who thought the world was ~6000 years old; that doesn't make the Calculus any less useful or significant. Is Mr. Brown the equivalent of Newton? No. Were Newton's views less acceptable in his time than the views you assert Mr. Brown holds? No. Can a person hold obnoxious beliefs, keep them generally private, and lead a civil, productive life? Certainly. If Alton Brown is a gay-hating bible-thumper that's lamentable and when he expresses such views he should be answered firmly, but it doesn't detract from the entertainment or information Good Eats provided.

I cooked it and it was tasty. The custard was a proper custard, but just a mustardy savory one. Everything was good.

Best damn fish sticks I've ever had. The sauce came out runny, but delicious. We expected it to be creamy.
