The "Ark Opening Ceremony" SPECIAL EDITION label on the side should have been a clue that something bad could happen.

What's the matter with this thing? What's all that churning and bubbling? You call that a radar screen?

No, sir. We call it, "Mr. Coffee." Care for some?

Yes! I always have coffee when I watch radar. You know that. Everbody knows that

"The problem arises when the power of the steam building in the water reservoir pops the chamber open and causes the brewer to erupt in hot water and coffee grounds, says the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission."

I don't know whether to be horrified or buy some and gift them to my enemies.

When Mr. Coffee was still made in America, Joe DiMaggio once brewed 56 consecutive pots without being scalded.

I love my Mr. Coffee single coffee brewer. I like to use it with my Bluth Cornballer to make a nice safe breakfast.

At least it's not just plain water, so it continues brewing on your face. Actually, skin-brewed is really the only way to make coffee.

Sounds like the designers of the coffee maker were too busy rolling mages in WoW to worry about things like safety.

They still make Mr. Coffees? OMG. Ahahahaha - how passé.

Are Americans so poor they can't afford a proper Jura machine? White trash always amuses me.

Who pays $80 for a single-cup coffee maker? Maybe these people are too stupid to be allowed near hot water.

I paid $120 for a Bosch Tassimo coffee maker. It makes great lattes and does all the milk frothing etc all by itself. Put milk pod in, press button, put coffee pod in, press button, drink latte.

Looks like the problem is with the T Discs, which are the pods full of coffee made by the coffee maker. They can explode and the mod is to fit a housing that will contain the steam. Doesn't apply to UK models, where I am, only the USA and Canada, possibly because our pods are made by a different coffee maker.
Maybe fixing a few thousand machines was easier than recalling the millions and millions of pods already out there? Or maybe the fixed the pods but still ordered Bosch to redesign the machines anyway?

Score I have this coffee maker. I got it for 25 bucks. The last two weeks it was leaking when I used it. Now I get a new one for free.Link
