Actually, the article says that bears are not preferentially attracted to menstruating women, which was the urban legend.

They can afford to be indifferent, because they're bears and can protect themselves. We men have to live with them.

I don't really care if you're menstruating. The key question is, can I catch you?

The chance of a bear attacks is decreased one hundred percent if a woman is in the kitchen.

Why is it OK for a premenstrual woman to avoid taking any and all responsibility for the way that she treats people?

My SO told me the other day since I knew I was sleep deprived to be sure I wasn't an asshole. We then argued about her knowing she's on her period, therefore she has no excuse to be a biatch. For some reason she didn't see that as similar.

A man who has obviously been married more than a couple years.

I've been described as "having the well weathered edges of a married man". You know, being polite, clean, whipped into submission, etc. etc. One of the first things you learn is that sometimes, there is no right answer to a question.

Well, we all make compromises in a marriage. I'm just getting fed up with getting my head ripped off and being emotionally abused once a month for absolutely no reason, then being expected to overlook it because "it's just PMS".

I trust the photographer took that shot with a telephoto lens. I also trust the photographer didn't wander close enough to find out for sure if the bear was growling or yawning.

NowhereMon: I'll take my chances with the bear

This is evolution in action. I sure bears WERE attracted to the smell of menstruating women, until a few encountered them. Those that survived learned to stay the fark away.

I hear you man, and I'll give you the best advice I have...

Live with it, or without her.

That is really your only option. People are incredible in their ability to learn, and far more incredible in their ability to turn you into a pile of goo on the floor when you make them question assumptions they have held for 20+ years.

If she's not currently on the pill, give it a try. Some versions are better at reducing PMS than others. That is, if you can bring up the matter without being stabbed with a spork.

Then there is the possible issue of the pill lowering her sex drive. It is a tricky course, one filled with hidden traps and pitfalls.

Serious question: If groups of women get PMS in sync, how come they do not all fall out with each other every month?

Another question, to show off my ignorance: Aren't bleeding women at a disadvantage in, say, the Olympics?
