Probably about as much as J'Lo.

That stupid shiat's still on the air?

One of the biggest reasons I can't stand this asshole is the use of the word "pitchy". That means absolutely fark all and doesn't tell a musician or singer anything. It's "sharp" or "flat".

good for him. methinks it is a sinking ship.

I have never, EVER watched an episode of American Idol, but considering Randy Jackson was the only judge who was an actual musician, with a working knowledge of the guts of the business (yeah, I know Steve Tyler was on it, please reread previous sentence), I think (hope) AI is over.

"Pitchy" means that the singers voice fluctuates off key in either direction. It means the singer is inexperienced and can't control their voice (i.e. Taylor Swift was pretty damn pitchy when she started, but is much better now). Sorry you couldnt grasp that.

Ol' Tyler sure can work a harmonica during a show.

Yeah. I'm not saying he dont have talent, but Randy Jackson is/was a session man. He KNOWS music in general, not just his own.

The article states they want a country star, I will watch if that country star is Willie Nelson, and the auditions take place on his tour bus.

Not really. There is no such word as "pitchy." It's something made up by Randy Jackson and it's pretty stupid. You're either on pitch or you're not. That's like saying a line is "straighty."

You're either flat or sharp. "Pitchy"? Bullshiat.

Not sure who on earth think Niki Minaj on American Idol is a good idea, but if it does happen, it's going to be the last nail in the coffin of the franchise.

Randy Jackson knows the music and promotion business. So does Simon Cowell. Everyone else they've had on as a "judge" was actually just thrown on as a train wreck to get people to watch.

Can't stand CW music myself, but since that's where the big money is these days, it makes sense to get a CW judge. Willie Nelson? Ooooooooh, yeah, I'd watch him - just to see how long he could go without running back to the tour bus to spark a few.

/Want to spark a few.

I'm sure some of these idol kids can alternate between sharp and flat during the same song.

I thought that said Randy Johnson. I don't watch American Idol but I really liked the mental picture. Very disappointed.

Good point. I thought Randy Jackson would be on as long as the show ran. It seemed like an easy payday for him.

No doubt. But there has to be another, better word for it. "Atonal" maybe? Off pitch? "Your intonation is all over the got-dambed place"? "Pick a f*cking note"?

Ah, well. To summarize: Cram it, Randy.

I would like to see them try to get Brad Paisley to fit that mold. It would be funny to see him do that show after he essentially made fun of American Idol back in 2003 in his song "Celebrity". For note, that song has a hilarious music video to go along with it that has William Shatner and Jason Alexander starring in it. Worth looking up and watching, even if you hate country music.

Likewise. I think I just saw "Randy" and "pitchy" and connotation skewed baseballwards.
