I still carry my father's Turtle Club membership card from the '50s in my wallet (I "Smart"ed your post for knowing the answer).

When I was a kid, we had a desert tortoise for years. My dad drilled a hole in the corner of his shell, so he could clip a snap-link and chain on him. He also painted our address on the bottom of his shell.
