Honest question: What are the qualifications? You're surrounded by advisers, you have only limited powers to begin with, it seems to me that any competent adult should be `qualified'. Taking all politics aside and whether or not I agree with either of them, it seems to me that either Obama or Romney would be equally qualified to hold the position, as would at least half of the adult population in this country.

"When I heard the current president say, 'You didn't build that,' I was first insulted, then I was angered, then I was saddened that anyone in our country, much less the president of the United States, believes that roads create business success and not the other way around," Paul said. "Anyone who so fundamentally misunderstands American greatness is uniquely unqualified to lead this great nation."

So, the guy who clawed his way up from being the son of a career politician wants to lecture Obama about "American greatness" and has apparently never heard the phrase. "Location, location, location."

Weak tea.

Which is exactly why the Reich Wing is going on and on about Obama's lack of experience. In 2008, they were harping on about his lack of executive experience -- only to end up nominating the chief executive of the world's fourth-largest expanse of empty tundra as their candidate's running mate.

This time around, it's Obama's lack of experience in the private sector (but pay no attention to the law firm in which he worked and met one Michelle Robinson), and their candidates' experience in the private sector are "Closed profitable American factories and shipped the jobs to China, while having the American workers build 30' stages and/or train their Chinese replacements" and "[not applicable]"

I mean, you can say he sucks, you can say he makes bad choices, you can see that he's an idiot who trys to play off folksy likeability for intelligence and skill. but what the hell does unqualified mean?
A retard is unqualified, an non citizen is unqualified, a psychopath is unqualified, someone too young is unqualified.

Actually, I would argue that given that he has been president for 4 years, he is in fact qualified to be president, as are both Bushes, Carter and Clinton. That doesn't mean that there may not be people who are better qualified than others, but to say that Obama is unqualified to do a job that he's doing is silly.

This is also why the "where are the transcripts/foreskin parts/birf certifkits" arguments are pointless. Whether you love Obama, hate Obama or are somewhere in between, the measure of the man at this point is how he has done as president, not what his baptismal certificate says (If it even exists Taqiyya Dhimmitude Manchurean amirite).

"When I heard the current president say, 'You didn't build that,' I was first insulted,

Bullshiat.

then I was angered,

Bullshiat.

then I was saddened

Bullshiat.

You, like everyone else in the GOP, were elated that Obama phrased his speech in a way that you could take 4 words completely out of context and base Romney's entire campaign on the lie you created with it.

that anyone in our country, much less the president of the United States, believes that roads create business success and not the other way around," Paul said.

You're right, the interstate highway system did not help out nation's economy in any way, shape, or form. Did you build your medical practice in the middle of nowhere, and roads were built as a result of your awesomeness?

He received his first job from Dr. John Downing of Downing McPeak Vision Centers, which brought him to Bowling Green after completing his residency. Paul worked for Downing for about five years before parting ways. Afterwards, he went to work at the Graves-Gilbert Clinic, a private medical group in Bowling Green, for 10 years before creating his own practice in a converted one-story house across the street from Downing's office.

No? Those roads were already there and you used them to create success for yourself? WELL IMAGINE THAT!!!

Yes, but what about a bus driver that managed to take over just after the bus went over an embankment, kept the bus intact, and put the bus back on the road? Would you call that a crappy bus driver?

I'm just thinking back 125 years or so to the Railroad..................and how towns would sell their citizen's eye teeth to get the railroad to come through their town, and not the neighboring town, because, you know, business. And what a big deal the railroad was connecting the East Coast with the West Coast, because, you know, business.

And what an innovation the interstate was because, you know, business.

My soul hurts. The Party has been betrayed, and the betrayal was willing.

Considering your state is real big on "Creationist Museum" type things, I think you're probably barking up the wrong tree. You should move north if you want a state that doesn't legislate as if it's the 1840s.

Never heard him called helicopter Ben? or lambasted for Quantitative Easing? Granted he did not almost single handedly cause the Fed to come under stricter control of congress, like Paul Volker almost did, but still he is not well liked in conservative circles.
