Four learned fellows are on a train traveling through Scotland, each trying to outdo the other in being factual and precise.

At one stage, the first looks out the window, and spying an animal on the field nearby, claims, "All the sheep in Scotland are white!"

The second replies, "No, SOME of the sheep in Scotland are white."

The third retorts, "No, AT LEAST ONE of the sheep in Scotland is white."

They all look at the fourth, daring him to improve on the last statement.

He thinks for a second, and replies, "At least one of the sheep in Scotland is white ON ONE SIDE."

First thing the cat pic brought to mind for me as well. I love fark because I know several people would have had the same thought as well.

He's even black on the right side:
Bele: It is obvious to the most simple minded that Lokai is of an inferior breed.
Mr. Spock: The obvious visual evidence, commissioner, is that he is of the same breed as yourself.
Bele: Are you blind, Commander Spock? Well look at me. Look at me!
Captain James T. Kirk: You are black on one side and white on the other.
Bele: I am black on the right side!

And Frank Gorshin, who played Bele, was also famous for his role as The Riddler, giving us a complete circle back to the Batman reference.

Gorshin was a way better Riddler than Carey even thought of being.

I have a cat with a similar face, though not so pronounced (not solid orange/black, and without farked up different eye colors). It was actually the reason I got her.

Wow. I never realized that was the same actor. That's awesome.

I love playing the Star Trek variation of "Six degrees of Kevin Bacon." Just today, for example, I watched the "The Juror #6 Job" episode of Leverage. Apart from being directed by Jonathan Frakes (Commander William Riker), it's got Armin Shimerman (Quark) and Brent Spiner (Data) in that episode.

And Armin Shimerman was Principal Snyder in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," which opens up a host of other connections; plus he was a voice actor in a Batman show; and if you star looking at video games, Armin Shimerman was in Star Wars the Old Republic, so now you've got Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Star Trek, Batman (which makes a connection to Frank Gorshin), and Star Wars tied together (though Leverage), not to mention the Mass Effect and Bioshock games. It just goes on.

And yes, Frank Gorshin was an awesome Riddler, I really wish the Riddler in Arkham City was more like the Frank Gorshin Riddler.

If you can find it, there's a great outtake of Gorshin--also a world-class impersonator--standing on the transporter in that episode and Kirk says "Energize" and Gorshin transforms himself into James Cagney.

I read it as Harvey Birdman initially. Disappointment swiftly followed.
