Casually took his place on the cross? As in nonchalantly? Like a boss?

This is exactly as believable as Mormonism.

I heard this wack story when I was living there, briefly, studying an obtuse version of JuJitsu. I thought the old priest who told me about it (there was no major tourist trap like the pic at the time) was full of beans and honey. But at the same time, he looked at the round eyed dude from America who came on a short vacation with too much luggage to study martial arts like I was the one who was nuts. So who knows? I wasn't there when Jesus was, so I can't say.

And similar to Jesus, this story rises up again every three months.

Anyways, unless Jesus lived to be 1000+ years, atleast one of the versions of this story is impossible, which had him hiding from the Tokugawa Shogunate.

I love the idea of this.

Mostly that there's some local song that seems to be of some other language.

It makes me wonder if they like orange soda.

Blatant lies. Everyone knows Christ's younger brother is Chinese.

How do you know that Jesus didn't travel to Japan? It's not like Japan was completely closed to any external influence for millenia.

My first thought was, "Their version of Jesus sounds like a coward, letting his brother do that."

A Japanese legend claims that Jesus escaped Jerusalem and made his way to Aomori in Japan where he became a rice farmer. Christians say the story is nonsense. However, a monument there known as the Grave of

This cant be refuted. Christians have much experience with nonsense.

It's got to be at least 5 thousand miles from Jerusalem to Japan....so let's say the average speed of walking is approximately 3 miles and hour it would take something like 1600 hours - divide that by, let's say 16 hours of walking in a 24 hour period, it would Him something like 100 days. If my math is correct, I guess that is possible.

Sure, why not? Fictional characters can die wherever you want in the narrative.

I've been to this place. You drive past it three times, turn into a farmer's yard, who points you to the right driveway, which is a field-goal between a Pepsi machine and a Georgia Coffee machine; a tiny sign says "Tomb of Christ" and "Coca-Cola".

There are two crosses, one each atop two mounds, and the sign in the picture. One tomb is supposed to be Jesus, and the other is supposed to be a memorial to His brother that died on the cross in Judea.

There is a little building with two big windows displaying "stuff"; probably belongings of people that came here and were cured, but there's nothing in English so that's my educated guess.

I'm told that in the 1980's a team from Tokyo did an archaeological dig and found both tombs empty, convincing themselves that these are legitimate because any body of Christ would've been assumed into Heaven, leaving the empty tombs that they found.

If I was convinced, all of the above would've been in all capital letters.

// I was stationed at Misawa Air Base and it seemed like an amusing way to spend a Sunday afternoon; it was.
