Here's Paul Ryan about Barack Obama:

He created a bipartisan debt commission. They came back with an urgent report. He thanked them, sent them on their way, and then did exactly nothing.

"They." "Them." "Them." Those words are lies. Because Paul Ryan was on that commission. "Came back with an urgent report." That is a lie. The commission never made any recommendations for Barack Obama to support or oppose. Why not? Because the commission voted down its own recommendations. Why? Because Paul Ryan, a member of the commission, voted it down and successfully convinced the other House Republicans on the commission to vote it down.

he also blamed president obama for the credit downgrade, ignoring the fact that S&P specifically called out republicans in congress as the reason for the downgrade... he's kind of a liar.

2012-08-30 10:39:05 AM
also he brought up that lie about the janesville GM plant again.

2012-08-30 10:39:54 AM
When he told the story about the factory that Obama visited that was shut down, I didn't even need to check Politifact or any other website to know it was a lie. Just the way he phrased it gave it away.

has romney - taken any stand on any tough issue? sorry, on any issue at all?

2012-08-30 10:46:54 AM
Remember, corporations are NOT the people that make up their boards, but their own entities separate from those bodies. Thus, what Bain did was independent of what Romney may have wanted from the Board, even if he did set the policy himself or supported it.

Likewise, what the government does is independent of what the Senators or Representatives do themselves, support, or lobby other members for. Thus, the Congress is a faceless entity that is independent from the will of the people or its own members, it is a faceless, limbless thing that permeates our reality, as sure as the Hounds of Tindalos, the Congress and its corruption spread through the angles of time, athirst for the tax dollars of the poor and rich alike, and always lean and hungry, and they cannot be stopped, they cannot be reasoned with, only voted upon and then cut aloose into a vast sea of potentiality with hope, hope that they will spare their constituents by the grace of God and the Elder Things that rule the Between Places of our madness...

He strongly believes he should pay a 0.82% tax rate.

Haha. Let me spin this so that all the derpers understand it.
Paul Ryan said he's a duck!

A rich spoiled brat with a sense of entitlement the size of his Ayn Rand altar can't take responsibility for his actions.

yeah pretty sure Romney is only running for president as a way to lower his taxes, it's the ultimate move in taking an aggressive position on deductions as a vc firm, the longest con possible for a fund manger...

Before the speech, I had heard a lot about how Paul Ryan is a really nice, personable person and was loved by his district and wasn't afraid to admit mistakes. I knew about the Ryan budget, I knew he and Obama had discussed his plan, and that he's a workout maniac but honestly I hadn't really the chance to see what kind of person he was until last night.

And in about 15 minutes I realized that this guy is exactly what's wrong with the Republican party. Lies, hypocrisy, an inability to work with the other side, blaming 3 years of Congressional deadlock on Obama, blasting the stimulus that worked, blaming Obama for the debt ceiling debacle that the GOP started...Good lord these people are whackos! And you add in Ryan's social conservative beliefs...these people MUST be defeated. They are the greatest threat I've ever seen to this country.

Ryan has always been an empty suit shill. Look at his voting record......he IS NOT A FISCAL CONSERVATIVE as they'd like you to believe. He is just as crooked and partisan as any of the cronies in their party.

Oh don't forget his worship of Ayn Rand's economic policies while simultaneously deriding her personal views on religion and objectivism in general.

Saw that clip on TV the other night and it made my head hurt with so much contradiction.

the whole speech was just a dog and dancing pony show.

/but the confusion part FTFA is so perfect. I watched it and was like "this guy is lying. that is not true." but then I begin to think maybe i don't know the truth because how they can get up their and distort the facts like this and get away with it? And I begin to think, am I confused? How it is it all Obama's fault? Are you really saying this sh*t? Do people believe you? crazy. Democrazy.

but that is it, they just hope the Republicans just eat it up and blindly believe it.

You see, this is why you preface saying objectionable things by noting that you don't want to be a dick, and that you don't want to cause offense. So when you're a dick for causing offense, it's all good. Right?

Nixon's secret plan for ending the Vietnam war involved invading Cambodia and Laos, while bombing the ever loving shiat out of North Vietnam. Peace through massive escalation.

Maybe Romney's secret plan is to make our economy worse while destroying the economies of other countries. Hey, if cutting taxes is supposed to increase revenue, then making the economy worse should make it better.

The campaign declared fact checking a liberal plot the other day.

They've actually consciously decided to just run on lies. That's the actual strategy. Given what they have to work with, it was probably the only thing they could do.

I can't even listen to Republicans speak anymore... Nothing but bullshiat comes out of their mouths. Yeah, yeah all politicians bullshiat, you say, and I agree, but today's GOP is nothing but lies, hubris, hyperbole and obfuscation.

Wrap that up in religious authoritarianism, regressive social policies and a pig-headed dedication to the failed policies of Trickle-Down economics and you've got yourself a party I have no interest in supporting at any level.

If you call yourself a Republican, you will never get a vote from me. Ever. Because regardless of how "moderate" you're portraying yourself as, you've aligned yourself with the insanity and ignorance of Today's GOP and I want nothing to do with you.
