Researchers researched the animals' bathroom habits in the Qinling Mountains and published their research in the July 2012 issue of the journal Animal Behaviour.

How about "Researchers studied the animals'...and published their findings in the July..."

Why is the word research used so much?

Now i know what i am going romney say when a man says he can write his name in the snow, and i can't. (which i could it would just be messy and involve running while peeing) i will challenge them to pee like a panda. This could end hysterically.

To turns to romney on my phone. Weird autocorrect. Maybe my phone is a republican

my guess would be they can piss higher on a tree by standing on their hands ensuring it won't be covered up by some other animals piss... was I right?

Eats, flips, shoots and leaves: Scientists solve the mystery of why pandas like to do a handstand when they urinate (and say it is to mark their territory)

Great! Now I don't even have to read the article! After all I do hate articles that have more than one sentence worth of words in them and a distressing lack of a metric ton of pretty photographs. They're so hard to get through!

Thanks Daily Mail!

A nun rolling down a hill (while peeing).

So it's basically for the same reason dogs lift their legs when marking: to make the mark higher than anyone else has.

Which is hilarious, when a papillon encounters a tree marked by a great Dane.

Just saying.

Some stories may take years for the Daily Mail to find an angle to blame it all on immigrants.

Interesting, given that those screen caps are from a 10 year old documentary (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/4043105.stm), so the news from this new status must be something other than, "Oh, they do that to mark their territory." What a fluff piece.

"Why do pandas do handstands when they urinate? To pee into your coke more efficiently!"

That would have been my first guess.  I should be a scientist.  The laziest scientist in the world, data and proof be damned, I'm just spouting the first thought that comes into my head.

Well, I didn't know until today that they did this, but Jesus, as soon as I saw the pics, I figured out that was why. WTF is up with these scientists nowadays? DO they all ride the short bus to the lab, or are they just milking their research money for the absolute last possible penny? This could have been solved in 30 seconds, and they could have moved on to the next zoological mystery.

To fake out Bigfoot hunters. No really it's because they like to do it at nose height or higher.. so it wafts through the breeze.. Just saw that on a nature show..

I've done this once or twice. Marking my territory had nothing to do with it; I was just out of my mind on hallucinogens and couldn't remember how to pee normally.

I wanted to submit this with "But not in her Coke." But I was afraid for racial lashback. Still think it's funny.
