The people who will vote for them aren't concerned with such things.

Sure, it'll drive some independents away, but let's face it - if, like Romney, you're still trying to shore up your base at this point things aren't really going that well for you.

Really? The way the Obama campaign has turned it, they're not speaking about him at all, especially not the ones that think they'd have a shot in 2016...

This just in: There were multiple speakers at the GOP convention last night. Some of them talked about Mitt Romney, Chris Christie and Condoleeza Rice talked about themselves more. Both concepts can exist at the same time.

Holy shiat. That's actually a good idea. And as an added bonus, that gives his another use for $100 bills: sticking them in stripper's thongs!

Mitt Romney struggled to get himself on his feet. Coming out of college, he had a mere half-million dollars and 2 personal assistants to his name. It took 3, maybe 4 hours before he was given the top position at his hedge fund despite having no functional experience in the field.

But it was a walk in the park compared to the time that his wife had to spend an entire day in the mansion with their 5 children.

Weaver95: the Republicans do understand that we can actually disprove their lies in real time now, right?

They've taken the Karl Rove axiom of "attack your opponent on your greatest weakness" to the next level: "run on your greatest weakness."

The message of this convention was supposed to be about making Romney relatable enough that most Americans would either be willing to file a protest vote against Obama or just not vote at all. Instead it has been about how you should want a man who never waivers in his position due to political pressure, a man who offers a solid plan to address the issues that fully discloses the painful portions of such fixes, a man who wants to speak honestly about the issues and not spin away from controversy by campaigning on empty platitudes, a man who will stand by his record as one to be proud of, a man who leads rather than follows, and that man is Mitt Romney.

I will be VERY surprised if these claims gain much traction.

That's right. Go ahead and twist the knife. Remind her of just how close at hand the freedom of the park was, while she was trapped in that hell hole of a mansion with those...those...children. You bastard!

You'd think Romney would have the savvy to use his whitebread status to his advantage. If I were Romney, I would go out there and open with "What up, gangstas? Sorry I was late, I was out makin' that paper. You know how we do. What." If he phrased it correctly it would be a riot. And then segue with "No, but seriously, there's a ton of white people here."

How did I forget that one: "You want a man who has known what it truely means to struggle, not someone who had everything handed to them due to the circumstances of their birth!"

I saw a comment by Ta-Nehisi Coates that will surely be misinterpreted by many but was pretty fascinating: why is it that so many people feel comfortable theorizing all the ways Obama could have been helped by affirmative action programs at places like Harvard (who did not introduce any such program until years after he was accepted), but nobody feels the need to discuss any "affirmative action" Mitt Romney would have gotten growing up in heavily segregated Detroit?

The fundamental problem Romney's campaign has is that they're telling instead of showing, and the people telling aren't reliable narrators. Wow, Mitt Romney's wife says we can trust him (she also may be a lesbian because of how much she loves women). So do I trust Ann Romney to give an honest assessment of her husband? Probably not. The same goes for everybody with an agenda up there at the lectern.

Since Romney has shown nothing except that he's a nearly sentient weather vane, and all the platitudes in the world coming from his family and associates aren't going to change that. He's like your brother-in-law who's a total asshole when you see him over the holidays, but "In private, he's such a sweet guy. You just have to get to know him." Seeing something with your own eyes will trump what you've heard about someone nearly every single time.

To quote Chief Justice Earl Warren, "Many people consider the things government does for them to be social progress but they regard the things government does for others as socialism."

The GOP has had a historical problem with quantum decoherence. I believe it's caused by all those outside influences brought into the system by all the illegals.
