Garet Garrett:

Look, if I get to redefine your words for you, I can prove that everything you say is a lie.

Ladies and gentlemen, the 2012 Republican campaign, espoused by Garet Garett.

Garet Garrett: jso2897: EnviroDude: It's FAUX News and everything they say is a lie. So the article has to be a complete fabrication.

/ what I have learned on FARK

Well, in the actual polls that matter (adjusted to EC vote) Obama still has a comfortable lead - but if the numbers get any softer (and they should, with the inevitable "convention bump"), you'll be seeing more pro-Obama stuff on faux news. Rupert doesn't want to lose his main meal ticket, you know.

What's the European Community's voting pattern got to do with Presidential polling?

Electoral College, you moran.

Poor woman must be getting the hide flogged off her right now in Roger Ailes' office. "Token Liberals" exist at Fox only to be used as easy-to-knock-down strawmen. NOT to act like........well......REAL liberals.

Lsherm: Relatively Obscure: borg: Written by an openly gay Democrat.

I for one can see how whether or not this writer is gay is a very important point to make. Thanks for driving that most important of points home for us.

If you look her up, she's an activist for gay and liberal causes. Since the Republican platform isn't exactly gay or liberal friendly, it's a fair fact to note. It's no different than pointing out when someone from the Family Research Council writes an article against the Democratic platform.

She's not a journalist, she's an advocate. There's nothing wrong with that, but context is key.

Whether or not someone is gay is pertinent to whether or not facts are facts.

In addition to being irrelevant to the story, who said that because someone advocates for gays, that they are openly gay? They could still be in the closet, or they could be someone who takes the 'liberty and justice for all' part of the pledge of allegiance seriously and is offended by the second class citizenship status we give gays.

/not gay but is offended by their treatment

Hear, hear. There are lots (hopefully) of us heteros who think the discrimination against homos is a bad, bad thing.

Ryan's speech was my favorite part of the GOP convention, it was so theatrical:

PreMortem: Why no comments section on that page, I need a good scare/laugh.

Fox loses (yet more) credibility with me when they seal off the comments section. Like when they wrote that ad, I mean article, about buying email of Reagan's website so you don't support lefty companies. No comments there either, and it's because it would have been a bloodbath.

s2s2s2: Garet Garrett: 2. The plant closed in May 2009. My records indicate that Obama had taken office by then. As Ryan says, take some responsibility, people.

I did.

During GM's 2008 annual shareholder meeting on June 3, 2008, CEO Rick Wagoner announced that the Janesville assembly plant would close by 2010, along with three other GM factories, and could close sooner if the market dictated.

Decisions lead to actions.

"We need to maintain our competitive edge in a global by ensuring that plants like this one stay open for another hundred years, and shuttered factories re-open as new industries that promise new jobs. And we need to put more Americans to work doing jobs that need to be done right here in America."

Barack Obama at the General Motors plant in Janesville, Wisconsin on February 13, 2008.

Which means what Ryan actually said was 100% accurate

I've found that the Fox News website is less partisan that the cable channel.
