Corvus: I keep forgetting do the Republicans think G. W. was a good or bad president?

I think the rule is they can say he was great until someone else brings up what he actually did then your not allowed to discuss him.

They never talk about him. It's a very hush-hush issue.

As far as I know, he's not going to be at the convention endorsing Romney.

noblewolf: I will have to research more on the force able and non-force able rape the Republicans are talking about.

Just another way we know you're lying.

Look, you know why we think you're a troll?
First, you ask a typical concern troll type question... 'just being serious.'
Then, after many examples are provided, you ignore them and fall back on the tried and true 'I'm just askin' questions and y'all call me troll because I disagree with you.'
S, I checked your profile. It's chock full of political position points where you brand yourself as deeply conservative. Now, if you were just an uninformed independent undecided bystander to the political process, you likely wouldn't have thought that proclaiming your political inclination was so important to include in the picture you paint of yourself to present to the world.
THEN, you come out with this 'gee, I never heard of this whole "forcible rape" issue, maybe I'll have to research some more.' Yeah, it's not like it's dominated the political news (and FARK) for almost 2 weeks straight now. No,you're just now hearing about it.
Your whole line of 'questioning' appears designed to create an environment in which to inject more right wing talking points; I'm sure for plan was to wait until you got all these responses then spring the trap and point out all the GREAT things the GOP is doing for women and how it's really the Dems who are waging a war on women.

Corvus: I keep forgetting do the Republicans think G. W. was a good or bad president?

He's like Nixon was during the 90s: no one really wanted to be associated with him but everyone wanted to point to the parts of his legacy they liked.

/now Nixon would be considered a RINO and cast out of the party.

It is funny that Bush Sr. and GW both presided over clusterfark Hurricane responses (Andrew and Katrina respectively). I wonder how the whole Bush mind works like that. "Hrm, I see people's lives ruined and stranded without basics like water and food. I guess we should just wait and pray till they beg nicely for help from the system they've paid into their entire miserable lives."

Dwight_Yeast: Mmmrky: What would a Romney presidency actually be like? Serious question. He hasn't outlined anything specific he would do other than repeal Obamacare on day one...and since the president doesn't have that power...

What would he actually do? Pass whatever the republicans can get through the Senate?

It's an interesting question, as when he was gov of Massachusetts, he was politically to the left of Barack Obama. He's repositioned himself to the Right, but he seems to be driven by opinion polls, so he'd be likely to go with whatever the majority of people want.

Right and since the country is basically evenly divided on every issue, where do you go from there? I honestly have no idea what he would champion.

I'm not going to vote for him but this is what I want to know. From Obama too. Don't purposely misconstrue your opponent, don't tell me generalities, tell me specifically what you want to do, and how.

But that is hard. It's like how generic republican leads every primary poll. Once you take a definitive position you can be critiqued and criticized. If you stand for nothing, people just substitute their ideals.

That is what infuriates me about our political system.

King Something: Indubitably: Indubitably: Indubitably: King Something: "You didn't build that."

Apparently, business success is how roads are paved.

Actually, um, without the centralized government of the United States of America, these businesses would never have existed, for they rely on the central currency and central protection of the assets which have been provided at great cost over the centuries, so the whole Rresponse is uneducated and arrogant at best. AND, you keep trumpeting it?

Are you daft?

P.S. Not you, King, I'm writing rhetorically as I'm sometimes wont to do.

P.P.S. "Standing on the shoulders of Giants," as it were?

I started typing my response to your response to what I wrote without refreshing, so I didn't see your response to your response, nor your response to THAT response. So please don't put too much stock in my response to your response.

Itstoearly: Pochas: noblewolf: Frank and Beans: Republicans are waging a War on Women.

Other than the abortion issue, how are they waging a war on women? Are they removing the right to vote? Are they loosing jobs if the Republicans win? Exactly what are they going to loose?

I'm interested in your facts on the issue.

/I'm being serious. How are women going to suffer.

Paul Ryan voted against equal pay for women and the republican governor of Wisconsin actually repealed it.

In Arizona, republicans have created what I call a Schrodinger's womb. In Arizona a woman is now legally pregnant two weeks before conception. But she isn't actually pregnant. But legally she is. So she both is and is not pregnant until she has sex, then the wavefunction collapses.

Then there is the esteemed senator Akin who believes women's bodies are pregnany-from-rape proof. That disipicable moron also happens to sit on the house science committee (More like the house derp committee amirite?)

That's jsut what I can think of off the top of my head but there you go

So then, you are obviously outraged at the Obama administration, where women make less on average than men, right? I want to hear you say it- Obama is a sexist because he pays women less on average. Or does Obama get a pass on issues of equal pay?

He definitely gets more of a pass than republicans cause he doesn't want to repeal those laws.

And the law is equal pay for equal work, numbnuts. Fact is, men tend to have higher positions in his administration, such as VP, and various secretaries (except sec of state of course).

So he isn't violating anything cause it's not equal work.

Critical thinking is hard, that's why the republicans in banned it in Texas schools this year.

AverageAmericanGuy: This is what Kurt Cobain would be doing today if he hadn't blown his brains out.

img442.imageshack.us

Every time an artist dies young- Kurt Cobain, or whatever, there's always the people "It's so sad, he had so much more to give." - How do you know? Maybe he was out of shiat. How do you know? He's done. He got all the money, he did all the drugs, he farked all your holes. And that's the American Dream, and when you're done with that you go "Oh, that's why they call it a dream. - It's bullshiat, I'm still empty." And he cashed out. How do you know what any artist had left? How do you know if Jimi Hendrix hadn't had died he wouldn't have wound up doing Superbowl half-time duets with Elton John right now?

Rand's entire speech is predicated on a lie of what Obama said.

Not unlike the famous Joe the Plumber gambit about how a tax for people making over $250K a year was keeping a fake plumber from following his dream of running a plumbing business making $250K a year like that was the only thing holding him back.

One thing democrats will never understand is that those of us who believe in small government don't vote for things like equal pay, not because we don't believe in equal pay, but because we don't believe that government should have that level of power. But they want to pass all these laws that give the government power, and don't have the foresight to think "what will the republicans do with this power when they are in the majority?" This is shortsightedness and foolishness.
