What sucks is the movie about the inevitable result of this latest example of hubris will not feature Kate Winslet going topless.

Does Kate Winslet really need a reason for going topless? I'm pretty sure she does it just because...,

/not that I'm complaining

I can draw you a picture of Michael Vick on tissue paper that will probably play more full games this season than the actual Michael Vick.

Apparently it is wrong to wish NOLA is wiped out. Is it wrong to wish Vick has his testicles eaten by dogs?

Well thank god, I mean.. it would be simply awful if something were to happen to him. We need role models like him protected at all costs.

What -exactly- are the reasons why anybody thinks this guy is supposed to be a good quarterback? Last year? Year before? All his Superbowl wins?

Oh, right. ESPN ratings.  Dream team!

Well, in '99 I would have said "because he's a Hokie" and whatnot. But really, fark Andy Reid in his ear and Vick is an injury machine.

This! I would pay good money to see a cage match of his equivalent weight of vicious dogs set upon him and let them fight to the death

The thing that makes Vick so dynamic and the reason he continues to make $$$ in the NFL is also the exact thing that has caused him to be such an injury machine- namely, his tendency to leave the protection (which considering the Iggle's O-lines over his tenure there, is scant) of the pocket. Men the size to most O-linemen simply cannot run with him. He's essentially a target floating in space. Linebackers can get at him and then when decides to take it downfield, CB's and S's can get up 50 yards of steam and blow him up.

This ain't rocket science, folks.

As a body armor designer - I don't see any way that kevlar will prevent him from breaking ribs. Kevlar prevents penetration by (handgun) bullets and shrapnel, but is flexible enough to allow the wearer to move around. Backface deformation still breaks ribs.

Looking at the companies' website they talk about using rigid carbon fiber panels which could help somewhat but they are still not going to help in cases where a 250 linebacker drives him into the turf.

The best stuff I saw for reducing backface deformation was Zoombang - a shear thickening gel - and they already sell sports gear with that in it.

As an eagles fan I hope Vick gets injured early and Foles becomes the savoir of the franchise. Or at least a solid option moving forward. I know Edwards will get cut and he only played against scrubs but he looked good in the preseason. Kafka....eh.

The only QB I can think of that ever had need of a kevlar vest was Steve McNair.

It doesn't really matter - if his ribs are find, he'll break something else. It's Vick. Who cares?

/Foles is a better option anyway

I'm not a Vick hater. Under Andy Reid he seems to be keeping his nose out of trouble and saying fewer stupid things than the headline grabbers.

That said, injured or not, the man's quarterback performance (turnovers, dirt balls) is cause for concern among Eagles fans. And as a Steelers fan, I know how to be nervous about a quarterback's health (but damn, Ben just keeps playing).

As a multiple dog owner, I always have hope that whenever Vick drops back all that'll be left at the end of the play is a vaguely human sized puddle of goo.

I can't see that guy get sacked enough. Its one of my favorite pleasures of the game.

I'm also pretty sure a few of those d-lineman and refs are dog owners. Might be a little extra incentive to hit him and de-incentive to call a foul.

Works for me. I think they oughta equip the defense with cattle prods, and waterboard Vick at halftime.
