In other news Batman is now a crossdresser.

I just hope Cloud Atlas turns out well. I think it will be awesome but may be confusing for those who haven't read the book. Either way, it looks great.

If I'm reading TFA right it just sounds like they haven't specifically said "No" yet.

Seems about right

Hrm. Maybe.

I liked V For Vendetta,so I'm open to this possibility. Should they pass it up,though, "Kick Ass"/"X-Men: First Class" director Matthew Vaughn or "Moon"'s Duncan Jones are two other great prospects.

Siblings....

hehe

Sure, cause Marvel worked for ~6 years building an interconnected universe across five movies so that the payoff worked for fans of the comics and movies alike, so I'm sure DC's complete inability to launch a franchise that doesn't have "Bat" in the title and jumping straight into the cross-over film will have equal success! (Especially after rebooting Batman...)

Maybe they can cross over with Speed Racer?

...and likely planning to reboot it again now that Nolan is done with his trilogy.

/hope they use the opening he left for them, and just continue on, rather than rebooting.

With Jennifer Love Hewitt as the new Batman? No way. He has no money, no training and all the goofy super heroes required in the Justice League don't fit in with Nolan's universe. They're better off rebooting it with a new Batman closer to the animated show.

How is this anything but fail? Everything they've done since the first Matrix movie has sucked.

I would like to watch it on shrooms sometime.

This will be a surefire way to ensure it sucks.

Everything starts with Snyder's Superman. Which I'm confident he will fark up.

Waaaaaay more excited about Cloud Atlas from these guys...er...siblings.

That was my thought, but yeah. And no, they won't because then they'd have to use Nightwing. As much as I love JGL, he does NOT scream "Batman" to me.

/Yes, Dick Grayson was briefly and successfully Batman

What? It was excellent eye candy and the race scenes were very entertaining. I'd watch it again, preferably drunk.

It was not. It was amazing. Heartfelt and a perfect translation by fans who loved the source material and understood the emotions related to the loss of a child.

So.. Pass, then. Haven't really enjoyed their stuff. Its ok, but this won't be Avengers.. No matter who directs it. DC is wasting their time trying to rush out a JL movie, rather than planning ahead and doing it slow like Marvel did.

Buy, people will go see it. It'll make money, and everyone will complain about how much it sucks, or disappointed them.

Going to have to disagree with you. I loved the original anime and found this movie simply awful, though if you enjoyed it more power to you. I think they could do a decent superhero movie, especially since Joss Whedon did a decent job and I normally hate his work.

I stand corrected: They co-produced and wrote it. Still,I'd like to see them take a crack at this.

I like where you're going with this, but let's be real here - it's a story involving people in latex, leather, PVC and spandex tights. I couldn't think of a better pair of freaks to actually make that look attractive.

2012-08-29 09:10:13 PM
I hope it's directed by the "directed Bound and The Matrix" Wachowskis, not the "directed Matrix Revolutions and Speed Racer" Wachowskis.

2012-08-29 09:31:36 PM
who the fark wants a Justice League movie? I'd much rather see DC try to make other super heroes appear interesting on film without the clutter. Although I guess the only way to make most of their guys interesting is to throw them all together so you don't have to go into a lot of detail.

/Will the Wachowski siblings use bullet time to show us how fast The Flash moves?

2012-08-29 09:45:30 PM
I read an article earlier today that the rumor was WB plans on using the Justice League movie as the platform to reboot all these franchises, and Man of Steel has nothing to do with a JL movie. Of course it's nothing concrete but it really wouldn't surprise me. The focus seems to be not to make a great franchise, just have something to compete with Avengers 2.

3 years could be enough time to do something good but I'm not holding my breath.

2012-08-29 09:52:18 PM
Excellent! I love them for this!

Matrix 1, most of 2 and 3, Speed Racer, Bound and from the looks of it Cloud Atlas were all great. I'm down for whatever they can do with this.

Lana looks like a totally normal lady (except for the pink hair) in pictures. As soon as she starts talking though, something is very obviously amiss.

Or a mister.

Maybe, just maybe, if they managed to write it like an episode of Justice League Unlimited, would I have any interest.

I really, really need to watch that show, having grown up on Batman: The Animated Series and Batman Beyond...

Can't wait for the cave rave in Justice League: Reloaded!

So what movies are they going to tie into this? Batman, Superman, and what other DC characters are there?

2012-08-30 12:53:08 AM
If you anchored it with Superman/Batman... Clark Kent, snoopy reporter just wants a real inside story on Bruce Wayne who is the most fascinating SOB he's ever met -- even if he could never write it... While Batman (resentful of the guy who can shatter the world without having to work out -- but who CHOOSES not to eliminate organized crime) "quid pro quo"s S-man into being his tool -- organizes the League as his agents from behind the shiny red S while the Bat stays in the shadows...

It could work

I read some of that this morning and I sure as hell hope not. The expressions on Alfred's grizzled world-weary face alone made me close the book for a while.

/And WTF's with Bullock?

Mugato: They're better off rebooting it with a new Batman closer to the animated show.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, the next Batman movie needs to be rotoscoped. They can grab whoever they want to act as Bruce Wayne, but Batman has to be voiced by Conroy.

Rotoscoping will allow them to do all the comic-style action sequences that don't work in real film. It will work for Superman, Martian Manhunter, and Green Lantern too.
