If he does that I WILL set him on fire.

Trump's dementia clearly displays that he is a risk to the safety of himself and others, so why not throw him into the Loony Bin?
Of course, once you start, where does it end?

Birther
Anti-Vacciner
I recall when Obama was doing the jokes about what else Trump should investigate and he said something about "Was the Moon Landing faked"... Trump gave a nod of "hmm, never know", at least that is how I read it. So, maybe we can mark him up for a Moon landing denier.

All he needs to do is add "9/11 Truther" to his list and he'll be fully tin-foiled.

I still think it's entirely possible Trump is just trolling. Or a big, fat attention whore.

I thought we already knew he was a big, fat attention whore. Whether or not he's trolling is another matter.

Personally, I think he's living at what I call the "Poe nexus" (after Poe's Law: the idea that any sufficiently wacky position is indistinguishable from a good satire aimed at that same position). That lets him play to every potential audience: the ones looking for entertainment, the ones looking for insight (or what passes for it), and the ones looking for someone to be mad at. It's a perfect storm of derp, and whatever else can be said for the man, he is its master.

Angry Drunk Bureaucrat: FlashHarry: donald trump is not a smart man.

He could be set on a barge, pushed out into the ocean, and no one would miss him.

If we put brass fixings and marble floors on the barge, Trump might even get on it voluntarily.

/brass makes everything classy

Trump probably overstocked on Birfer DERP with the RNC in mind, now that boat has sailed (or more likely sunk as he got his ass banned), he has to sell another DERP flavour. It seems the AntiVac DERP was on sale. It doesn't really matter what he says, those voting vegetables listening to him for advice can't hold a self-inflicted thought for more than a second. As long as it's outrageous and shows up those science-y smug elitist medical liberal communists, it's a win for him.

"President" Basilisk Chumpstain 0FUK0

That is by far my favorite nickname for Obama now. Also, you just granted him the ability to turn people to stone... which is bad news for Trumpy.

Celebrity is its own appeal for some people. I mean, there are people out there who buy clothes because a Kardashian stamped their name on it.

Not sure "like" is the right word. The old saying can't look away from a train wreck seems more appropriate

NO THEY DON'T

Link (new window) - Early Thimerosal Exposure and Neuropsychological Outcomes at 7 to 10 Years
Link (new window) - Thimerosal Exposure in Infants and Developmental Disorders: A Prospective Cohort Study in the United Kingdom Does Not Support a Causal Association
Link (new window) - Thimerosal and the Occurrence of Autism: Negative Ecological Evidence From Danish Population-Based Data
Link (new window) - Association Between Thimerosal-Containing Vaccine and Autism
Link (new window) - Thimerosal Exposure in Infants and Developmental Disorders: A Retrospective Cohort Study in the United Kingdom Does Not Support a Causal Association (this is a retrospective study in contrast to the prospective one above)
Link (new window) - Pervasive Developmental Disorders in Montreal, Quebec, Canada: Prevalence and Links With Immunizations
Link (new window) - Continuing Increases in Autism Reported to California's Developmental Services System (This one is especially interesting to me)
Link (new window) - Autism and thimerosal-containing vaccines: lack of consistent evidence for an association.

And that's just the thimerosal ones, the general studies of vaccines consitently show the same damn conclusions.

At this point, you have a lot of money being wasted trying to prove a link that we have a very high confidence is not there.

These people don't like to listen to the fact that the whole "bombshell" report was in fact faked by a British Dr who was being paid to say bad things about vaccines. They just like to get all Jenny McCarthy and spout nonsense.

Some Republicans are faking the derp (Michelle Bachmann). Others are genuine crazies (Rick Santorum). I can't tell with Trump.

Wasn't it botched up anyway - from what I remember the doctor that started it had a financial interest in a company that provided the separate vaccines, and the idea of him linking MMR to Autism was so that he could get pressure on NICE/NHS and similar health organisations to switch from buying MMR to the ones the company he was invested in provided. Of course his faked study dropped takeup of all vaccines regardless of whether they had thimerosal or not, very few actually switched to the individual jabs anyway, so he committed a massive fraud, lost his license, killed and/or seriously injured thousands of kids, and he didn't even make any money off it.

Being Britain, they didn't take too kindly to this fraud, either, and from what I've heard, he is completely discredited over there(As well as his "study"), but here in the US, we've got too much of an echo chamber effect for the anti's to even listen to that.

And yeah, now that you bring it up, I think it WAS that he was hired by competitors. I was thinking that it was an anti-vaccine person, but I believe you're right, he was hired by competitors to discredit the current vaccine to get their product into the market.

What a douche.

Today it's more important to pledge allegiance to your tribe's bullshiat narrative than to the truth. Nobody will like you for telling the truth. They'll like you if you say you believe the same bullshiat they believe.

Or Donald Trump is an idiot at everything but being Donald Trump.

Remember in "Bloom County" when Trump was hit by the anchor of his yacht and had his brain transplanted into Bill the Cat and proceeded to fire all the other characters and change the strip (it was the final story arc of Bloom County's run)?

Good times.

He wasn't hired by competitors, he WAS the competition. Wakefield wanted to market his own measles vaccine and thought linking the existing vaccine to autism was the way to do it.

Double douche.

Jenny McCarthy was an ardent fan of Wakefield's. When he was discredited, she chose to do what was best for Jenny McCarthy's public image instead of what was best not only for people who really do have autism (unlike her son), but for the rest of the population as well.

Mega douche.
