She retweeted the message of one of her followers that read: "C'mon #Isaac! Wash every pro-life, anti-education, anti-woman, xenophobic, gay-bashing, racist SOB right into the ocean! #RNC " Barkin did not express any disagreement in her retweet.

My original instinct was to go with [yourenothelping.jpg] but fark that...

Oh Noes! Ellen Barkin LITERALLY wants GOPhers to drown!11!

Farking Man up, FOX, you buncha bawlin' babies.

Attack, attack, attack and then express fake outrage and concern when the targets of your attacks fight back with words.

The Bully/Baby alter ego thing is not a good look for you wingnuts.

/Phew, that *was* cathartic.

She shouldn't have done that. We shouldn't sink to their level. I hope she'll apologize.

Still . . . That is consistent with the Right's level of discourse right now. She didn't say that she hoped they drowned, only that they were washed into the ocean. And "she's only joking" too. If someone on the right had said that, they'd be rolling their eyes and saying "you guys just can't take a joke."

Oh yeah, I get her newsletter.

Prominent liberal icon Ellen Barkin. Although she's not as prominent as Danny Glover, to be sure.

I always think he's trying to send a secret message in Russian with that graphic: The reflection of "HELPING" looks like "НЕГЫИЭ", which would transliterate to "NEGYIE", which doesn't mean anything. Google Translate helpfully suggests "НЕГРЫ" meaning "Negroes" as a possible spelling, therefore Jon Stewart is a cryptoracist.

let me start off by saying - THIS DOES NOT HELP! stop that!

*sigh*

that said, here's something for our GOP shills to consider: before you guys jump all over this and call these comments out...consider that we've got literally terabytes of data on Limbaugh saying worst things about 'libruls' and all of YOU guys dismissing those hateful comments as 'merely the words of an entertainer with no political influence'. so if you want to say Ellen Barkin is a key figure in all things Democratic, then we get to say Limbaugh is the head of the GOP.

the rules have now been defined. you may now make your first move.

To be fair, in every way our country would be a better place if everyone at the RNC died a mysterious death.

Not cool, Ellen. Relax. I understand they can piss you off. Don't let that anger get the best of you.

I don't want the GOP leadership dead...I just want them to get caught breaking all those laws they like imposing on the rest of us, and then have the courts be merciless in their application of justice.

the GOP shows us how NOT to behave in public. we can always point to them and say 'see that? that's not cool man. don't be that guy'.

That's not entirely true. There are lots of otherwise nice, hardworking people that are Republicans . . . wait, you just said at the RNC . . . huh. Actually, I can't come up with real argument against that.

Hey, I just noticed something.

On Sunday, Ellen Barkin expressed her hope that Tropical Storm Isaac would smash up the Republican National Convention in Tampa and drown all its delegates.

Original Tweet read... "C'mon #Isaac! Wash every pro-life, anti-education, anti-woman, xenophobic, gay-bashing, racist SOB right into the ocean!"

Did FOX just admit that the entire GOP was all of those things?

Cos that's lulzy.

/One small point of disagreement, they are not "pro-life" so much as they are "anti-choice".

Since when are the Democrats the party of peace? They've been in favor of every single military operation since forever.

So hoping that some one dies is the same as encouraging people to go out and kill?

I have never heard of anything remotely comparable to "second amendment remedies" coming from any Democratic candidate, but I guess false equivalences are all there are when your only chance of winning is to pander to violent hate filled red-necks.

Condemnable comments.

But I'll remember this "she speaks for the whole party" the next time some conservative farknut inevitably says something disgusting, violent, and hate-filled. I'm sure Bryan Fischer won't let us all down.

THIS.

She was supporting a statement that was anti racist, anti-sexist, anti-homophobic and pro women's rights and she's the bad guy in this picture?

And this is why the left fails.

She probably could have gotten the message out without saying he hopes a ton of people are killed by a hurricane in the Gulf.

She didn't.

She retweeted someone else's tweet that said they wished the hurricane would sweep the GOP's morality impaired contingent into the ocean.

Anyone taking that as a serious threat or violent rhetoric is an ass.

I'm not saying that they should be murdered. I'm not saying people should go kill them. I'd like to be very clear that I am not advocating any kind of action.

But if they all died, well, I wouldn't have any farks to give. And if someone did try to kill all of them, I'd have no qualms about convicting them for murder.

Oh no.  Your rhetoric of violence is already out there.  If some of them die, we know it will be because of your casual indifference to life and your advocating that we'd all be better off with them dead.  You are as bad as the things that influenced the Giffords shooter or the Batman guy.  You know...crazy stuff.

How does directly saying that you should not commit murder make me just as bad as people who have actually committed mass murderers? Where is that on the slippery slope of concern?

No, of course not.
