It's mutilation of your baby! A violation of your non-consenting child's body!

Podiatrists still conclude that wearing shoes is somehow a very natural thing to do as well.

What's your point?

The mohel circumsized my finger!

Im glad I left my little dude intact.

No reason to go cutting off perfectly good bits of a kid cause ancient goat herders said so.

///That being said, this is all about making more $$$.

I was distracted by the bear apparently illustrating the story -

a.abcnews.com

I can safely say I'm opposed to circumcision by a bear or of a bear.

I predict this thread will be a calm rational discussion on whether the medical benefits of circumcision outweigh the moral costs of performing it on an infant.

These threads always go downhill quickly. I guess I'll go make Irish coffee for everyone since it is still early.

Pediatricians? So we know that it's a benefit until you hit puberty.

That is until the next time circumcision is reviewed in a year or two. Back and forth we go.

I am most certainly not kidding! Anyone who has their baby circumcised should be tried for crimes against humanity and EXECUTED!

I hate the use of the word "risks" in this article. It's setting up the dichotomy that "risk" is somehow the opposite of "benefit." The opposite of benefit here is cost, not risk. Yes, there is a low risk of a disastrous medical emergency, but there is a 100% "risk" of your son ending up losing 1/3 of his sexual sensitivity. You do not have the right to make this decision for another person. The hygiene benefits to circumcision are negligible. It is done to minimize sexual pleasure, discourage masturbation, and promote the Christian ideal that sex should be done as a duty in order to make more Christian babies, not because it feels good. Put simply: circumcision is child abuse.

I remember when I moved to South America when I was 20, and the first girl that gobbled my knob there thought how pretty and clean my junk was without the coonskin cap, she told all her friends, and I touched the back of many colombians throats that year.

2012-08-29 09:33:26 AM
I firmly believe boy babies should be circumcised as it's a lot healthier ie, not catching STDs etc.

I would not want my baby catching AIDS farking girls at the kindergarten, y'know.
Bunch of skanky little girl 'Honey Boo Boo' whores in those places.

My bris was so traumatic that, afterwards, I could not walk for a year.

Hey, its makes the baby healthier, so I'm all for it.

Just as long as their isn't a priest sucking the cock afterwards then I'm fine with it

Amputation of the legs will greatly reduce the chances of foot cancer and ingrown toenails. .

I will always feel sorry for those men mutilated at birth.
I guess it's best that they don't know or could never even imagine the raw, carnal delights that our foreskins bestow upon us. kinda like being born blind.

2012-08-29 09:34:55 AM
It's nice to know that there's some justification for it, I suppose, given that it's still so widespread. Reading through the studies, though, it seems as thought most, if not all, of the benefits are restricted to men who are having exceedingly unsafe sex (the HIV studies), or who are not keeping themselves clean with basic hygiene (the infection studies). You could make an argument that there are all sorts of body parts you could snip off at birth and avoid trouble with them later in life, but I am more comfortable with the idea of teaching my son to take showers and use condoms.

dittybopper: Cythraul: A violation of your non-consenting child's body!

A vaccination doesn't cost anything. There is no evidence that vaccinations prevented a person from achieving his full potential later in life, or enjoying hobbies, sex, or anything else to the fullest. And (unlike masturbation) the benefits are life-saving and very necessary.

BS, an erect uncircumsized penis is a bald one.

Ignoring the fact that most of your argument is complete bullshiat - parents make a thousand different decisions for their child that impacts their lives more than getting them circumcised ever will.

/getting your ears pierced would fall under your definition of child abuse

Yes, well put. We don't cut off body parts in order to reduce risk of disease. Unless those body parts allow people to have more naughty fun.

So I'm standing at the urinal and the guy next to me asks "Did Mohel Horowitz do your bris?" I responded "Yes, how did you know?" His answer: "Mohel Horowitz always cuts at an angle and you're pissing on my shoe."

"Recent research bolstering evidence that circumcision reduces chances of infection with HIV and other sexually spread diseases, urinary tract infections and penis cancer influenced the academy to update their 13-year-old policy."

Removing the penis entirely will reduce those chances even further. Circumcision is nothing short of compromise.

/pun intended

And as a corrolary - I did it for my son so when he get's the opportunity for his first lewinski, the girls around here who are used to a bit off the top won't be put off and change their minds.

2012-08-29 09:39:07 AM
The messaging on this is getting pushed pretty hard, but that's likely in response to people attempting to legislate the practice away.

I predict the cutter side prevailing, as people will get in to their minds that not doing it means they are putting their sons at risk in the future.

So with that, I would like to advertise my non-aidsy cleanliness to all the ladies. You shouldn't mate with third world AIDS dicks, it's bad for you.

I got to admit - that's a new rationalization that I haven't heard pushed out on the circumcision issue. Congrats. Its still complete bullshiat. But still - congrats.

/why does the "anti-circumcision" crowd always come off as screaming extremists?

Show me how getting your ears pierced can make someone not be able to enjoy sex for life.
