That was Fame??! I remember that scene exactly. I remember how excited she was to go to that shoot. And I remember how creepy that white dude was for asking her that.. how very Polanski. It was very, very off-putting. She so didn't want to do it, but she wanted to be a star and had already committed the hubris of talking up the whole thing to all her friends...

I gave up on Glee long ago, but I understand that last season's finale ended with Kurt's dreams being crushed.

They did that, it was called Fame: LA, and it failed miserably.

Goddamned producers always get this wrong. A reboot is a total new version of the same story. Like 'The Incredible Hulk' film was to 'Hulk'. A sequel is something that maintains continuity with a previous work, like the new Star Trek movies are in the same universe as all the other Star Trek movies (albeit a different timeline). A re-imagining is takes the beats of an original and uses them to build a unique story, as Sons of Anarchy is to Macbeth. Then you've got your sidequels (or parallelequels if you prefer), that occur in the same universe but don't really touch anything from the originals, like Prometheus.

All of this is fact and clearly not debatable in any way.
