I hope it works out, but after the suckfest known as "Beverly Hills Cop III", I'm going to be a little skeptical. Yeah yeah.....movies and TV shows are "apples and oranges".....but still.

Awesome.....I remember reading his Rolling Stone interview and hoping something might come of this......and yes Eddie, its time to take a pretty LONG vacation from the kid stuff......they had their place, and you had your reasons, but lets go back to what started ya!!

I can see this working on HBO, AMC or FX.

Just as long as it's not Axel training a rookie.

I'd be willing to give that a chance. Don't be so quick to judge.

A lot of people scoffed at the idea of a 21 Jump Street movie, and while I wouldn't call it movie of the year, I enjoyed it when it came to on-demand.

Yeah, cause if it's one thing the world needs is more gritty urban cop dramas. maybe we will luck out and he'll be a cantankerous Doctor Lawyer Cop.

Okay. I'm just going to say it...I liked Beverly Hills Cop III. I definitely liked it better than the second one.

Yeah but I'm pretty much still filled up with my tolerance of buddy cop movies.. I certainly am not ready for a buddy cop TV show based off a successful series of buddy cop movies from the 80s.

So are they going back in time to cast the "Raw" version of Eddie Murphy in this? Because otherwise I don't care to see the over-emoting Murphy of 2012.

2012-08-29 07:17:31 AM
It will be directed by the same fellow who directed Beverley Hills cop 2.

/Too soon?

Who gets to drop a hand grenade in Eddie Murphy's lap?

Beverly

He's a hipster slacker armed only with a guitar, his pickling pot and a sense of right and wrong. he's a black cop with only a week left on the force. Together they are Hipster and Black. This fall- justice has a new name and they do it their way. Also, there is a big-tittied slut partner somewhere in there we are sure of it.

Only if they can get Harold Faltermeyer to do the theme.

2012-08-29 08:10:43 AM
They should make it just like that bit in the Clerks cartoon; just Eddie Murphy and Judge Reinhold running around, stuffing bananas into random tailpipes for an hour every week.

Well his last pilot didn't get picked up, despite it's catchy theme song.

I agree - nothing would help this show more than a small twist of lime.

From reading the article, doesn't sound like Eddie would be the star. He would be the Chief of Police and it would be his son that is the focus of the show. No thanks, and please get some original ideas.

Sounds a helluva lot better than the other raw sewage they hose down the viewing public with.

You know, at this point I'm almost willing to try anything that isn't reality TV. Maybe this could go for the same demographics Night Court went for or something.

I was just thinking... Didn't they already do this on a low budget?

And remember, Eddie Murphy was a Detroit cop IIRC. So he'd have to move out to California and be properly recognized for the series.

With Shawn Ryan aboard, this actually may be alright.

The Shield is my favorite show of all time.

Waaaaaaah?

CSB:

When I was a kid, preferred the second one to the original. Thankfully, my tastes matured, and the original one is my favorite...which also proves how stupid kids can be.

I hear Jonathan Banks is looking for work.

I recently rewatched Beverly Hills Cop for the first time in many years. I was surprised at how good it was.
