MattyFridays: ZeroCorpse:

I don't know who that guy is, but you should be commended for picking a damn near perfect Namor candidate. The only problem? He's not scowling enough.

Is this scowly enough?

(FYI, he's Ian Anthony Dale, currently playing a gangster on Hawaii Five-O)

Damn! Yep, he's Namor.

/excellent choice

MadSkillz: MeinRS6: I predict some serious FAIL unless Whedon tones it down so much that there are no superheroes in the show. The reason Firefly could work on a budget is because no one had superpowers.

Hopefully it won't suck, but I think the whole idea of SHIELD is because of all the awesome superheroes. SO without them, they're a bunch of assholes in suits. Like Men In Black except without the wit.

WIthout Samuel L Jackson or Colbie Smulders it'll be nothing but a b-team of TV rejects on another Whedon project that gets either cancelled or he hands it off to Marti Noxon and she makes it suck.

Why wouldn't Cobie be in it?

AaronSynn: People likely to be involved: Eliza Dushku, Amy Acker, Adam Baldwin, Felicia Day, Summer Glau.

These are all awesome people.

meanmutton: Why wouldn't Cobie be in it?

Because she is a shiatty actress.

She's contracted to be in "How I Met Your Mother" for at least another year.

You know, having Joss Whedon direct one of the all-time highest-grossing movies of all time might not have been such a bad thing, delayed Dr. Horrible sequel or not.

Expolaris: Make her and Coulson the main characters with the ocassional cameo from big stars and this could go somewhere. It's been a while since he's had a TV show, he's got a bunch more connections and contacts, and he's got way more resources this time. All he really needs to do is navigate the CBS red tape around HIMYM and this could be real.

It's only been two years since Dollhouse.

Cobie Smulders could certainly be involved. Everything I hear around HIMYM is that they all want to wrap up the story this season, and from the end of Season 7 it looked like they were heading there in a big way. (As someone else pointed out--he has to have his first kid soon, since the kids in the framing story look 15-16 in 2030, so they need to be born by 2015.)

And yeah, I think this could be an excellent vehicle for all of the fan service and minor characters and second tier heroes and stuff, maybe even piloting them in the series to see how well they're received before adding them into one of the movies. The guest shots with marquis names is easily doable to, and could spice up the proceedings nicely.

I'm expecting some kind of X-files like show - Coulson in the movies seemed to be hunting down artifacts, tracking heroes, gathering intel on threats - not actively engaging.

Could be fun, and not require a summer blockbuster budget.

KingPsyz: But really we need Coulson to make this show work. Either have him be a LMD or reveal the one who died was an LMD.

Two words: The Vision.

She is perfection, possibly minus a couple of sandwiches.

That woman brings out my inner reaver.
/yummy.

Flint Ironstag: Yotto: Carth: Sorry, I just checked the dates Nathan Fillion wasn't on Buffy until after Firefly started.

Today I Learned that Buffy was still running when Firefly started.

After Firefly was cancelled I think Joss felt guilty and so gave Fillion the gig on Buffy and Adam and Gina a gig on Angel as consolation.

Regardless of their respective release dates, I'm fairly sure they were all hired for Buffy and Angel first, thrn Firefly. According to every interview I've ever seen with any of them at least.

Cite? Because had Firefly not been cancelled then there is no way they'd have been able to appear of Buffy or Angel. I've never seen that suggested anywhere. The closest I've ever seen to that is that Nathan Fillion auditioned for the role of Angel, but didn't get the job. And I seem to remember that Joss didn't even remember that until after he got the role of Mal on Firefly.
Checks Google: Video from the horses mouth. Joss didn't even know Nathan auditioned until after he got the Firefly role.

Just got word, Fox has canceled it.

That.

I want to see the story of how Ronnie Gardocki becomes a prison kingpin and succeeds at getting revenge on Vic Mackey were the fat guy from Kangaroo Jack had failed.

Expolaris: KingPsyz: texdent: With every week they run across a different character from the universe? Will we see Squrriel Girl?

Make Squrriel Girl a regular, instant #1 show of all time.

Felicia Day as Squirrel Girl. and i would only accept this if Wil Wheaton is the voice of Monkey Joe or Tippy-Toe.

Oh so much this...

Since Glau is too old, I know who Chloe Moretz should play

Summer Glau is....Spider-Woman

Stop it, you want this thing to get canceled?

Seriously, she could play a new superhero made just for the show. "The Albatross".

/I'm kidding, Ms. Glau, I swear
//PLEASE DON'T LOOK AT ME THAT WAY

What's Jessica Alba doing these days? Has she still got DAT ASS or was she ruined by dropping a litter?

For every episode in the first season, they should have a situation where the plot could easily be resolved in five minutes by use of a helicarrier. Someone points this out, and then someone else says, "Oh, yeah, the helicarrier is on assignment in Ecuador." "The helicarrier is in the shop." "The helicarrier pilot is in his FAA-mandated rest period." Etc.

Then for the season finale, the helicarrier just shows up for no reason in a plot that doesn't require it, and hovers in the background.

BTW -- As the guy who renamed SHIELD for Mark Gruenwald at Marvel in 1990 -- I'm getting a kick out of some of these replies.

Strategic Hazard Intervention Espionage and Logistics Directorate

/They kept 3 of my words for the Iron Man version

Joss needs to bring in Jim Steranko as a story advisor, seeing as he pretty much created the look and feel of SHIELD HYDRA and AIM. The man is a graphical genius and his run on Nick Fury in the 60' doesn't get near the credit it deserves.
