Why did you post a picture of Homer Simpson looking at Cesar Romero?

Because he don't know what Cesar Chavez looks like.

Came for this, and the response.

Well, his handlers have learned a lot from Bernays and company. As have Romney's handlers.

if not, he does not kind of have a point.

Yes.

ABC, NBC, CBS, and WB refuse to show the entirety of the Rupublican convention. And yet, CNN, Fox News, MSNBC and PBS will be showing the full Democratic convention in all of it's "glory". This is just further proof of the liberal tentacles around today's propagandist main stream media.

chico_suave: Speaking of propaganda, flipping through channels this morning, I almost hurled when Joe Scarboro was comparing Romney to Eisenhower.

Eisenhower was a pretty good administrative General (he had LOTS mores toys to play with than the other guy) but he was not a very good President. He was very ill (2 heart attacks) and didn't have the stamina to keep up with things. The CIA and the DOD got in way over their heads and we've been paying for the Military IC ever since. Nobody will be able to get control of the beast that is us. Eventually HAL will.

Romney is boldly going where Bush went before - blatantly telling the middle class FU and enriching the very small and very rich portion of our society all the while claiming the other guy is using class warfare against him. I only pray that undecided voters (who by now are just either just too crazy or haven't actually been on the planet the last 12 years and haven't been able to keep up) will watch both conventions, watch and listen to the debates and consider the facts. Please don't hate Obama because the Congress wouldn't let him do a thing (lefties) or because he's black (righties). Geebuss - Anyway, I suspect that if Romney wins, the Senate will kill (the Democrats will) any attempt and any change so as to do to Romney what the Republicans did to Obama and WE THE PEOPLE will get farked in the hiney.

Eisenhower was very likeable.

R.I.P. CHAVEZ RAVINE

The right-wing racialists hanging around Fark will dispute this (in their usual inconsistent logic) but the Chavez in Chavez Ravine was the name of the family who held out (they had a grubby little ranch on the property to be fair) but using eminent domain the City of Angels stole the land from them (paid a fraction of its true real value, a classic case of abuse of power by LA, who was notorious for slimy stuff back then). The messicans held out with old ladies, baracades of old cars, etc. until the bull dozers came with the national guard and cleared things out. There was a very good story about this in the "Best Sports Stories of 1958, or ?9" (Fairfax Co. Library, 1960). Don't know if that article is around any more.

Umm a check of my local cable listing show that MSNBC, CNN, Fox (with commentary and starry eyed love), PBS ( in parts) are showing the RNC. If you want RNC love all the time there is C-span.

And as for as why local stations are not airing the RNC all the time witch they could if they wanted to it comes down to two things: Ratings and Money. ABC, CBS, NBC, and WB can make more money showing regular programs then the RNC. Plus mostly all people have cable or internet options that will provide all the RNC love you can take. The DNC will be covered the same way, except Fox with do it with disdain and contempt.

So when a liberal says something at a major political event all conservatives should pay attention and I shouldn't see 40 articles from right-wing blogs about liberal hollywood and how we should ignore them.

Yeah right.

Oh, how I wish Ben LaBolt had actually issued such a rejoinder to Mr Voight.

"Earlier today, a Hollywood actor compared the President to Caesar Chavez in what was likely meant as a devastating attack. The President applauds Caesar Chavez' efforts in unionizing farm labor, and drew no small inspiration from Mr Chavez' mantra 'Si, se puede'.

The actor might do well, though, to brush up on his history. Caesar Chavez was never implicated in any scheme to control or manipulate Venezuelan media, and the only 'propaganda' he is known to have engaged in was publicly, as an advocate for laborers' rights. We would expect such strident defenders of American values to embody the values of historical literacy and responsible leadership."

There aren't many conservative actors as talented as him. Maybe none.

Well, it still kind of works. It's not like Republicans like Cesar Chavez either. He fought for a) the rights of workers, b) who were Mexican.

He can be hit or miss but I generally enjoy Bruce Willis's performances.

I think he may be socially liberal but back in the day, Bruce Boxleitner was a Reagan Republican and didn't get invited to many of the cool Hollywood parties (which were often political fundraisers); okay so I'm a B5 and Tron nerd.

Jane from Firefly got into a Twitter fight with Wil Wheaton over something political and revealed that he's about as dumb as the character he played (still will watch the dude) and Howlin' Mad Murdoch from A-Team (the TV show)/Barclay from TNG has a Teabaggery radio show apparently.

Granted these guys are rather character actors.

FTFA:Voight's outrage against the mainstream media also extended to its coverage of the Republican National Convention, which the major networks will show for one hour per night between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m.

"I am absolutely appalled," Voight lamented. "I never thought I'd see the day when the main media would refuse to run the Republican convention. Can you imagine this? What will they edit out? What story will they tell? It's propaganda, pure and simple. And everyone -- every citizen should be up in arms.
"

...

and then there's this beauty of subtletly:

"The Hollywood community is historically conservative," Voight told the Washington Post. "All the people that I so admired growing up were very patriotic and loved the country."

THAT is propaganda. "Conservatives love this country and whoever isn't a conservative hates it."

This is why we want the party to die. Given a platform to speak on, any platform at all, they simple cannot help lying. It permeates through every part of their politics and even their personal lives. As a whole I've found modern conservatives will lie, cheat and steal in order to "win" at damn near anything. The ends justify the means in the MO.
