I saw this in a movie about a bus that had to speed around the city, keeping its speed over fifty. And if its speed dropped, the bus would explode! I think it was called... "The bus that couldn't slowdown."

This story reads like a 3-year-old related it. "And then I saw trucks and they were close and that's when I noticed the bus was weaving so I sat in the seat and steered the way I saw my daddy steering that one time when we went to the mall and the driver was very sick and then the driver woke up but it was ok because I was steering."

"When the driver came to, Braxton said she told passengers she was without her blood pressure medication.

"I think she thought she could make it to Pittsburgh to get her medication, but it just didn't work out that way," said Braxton."

If that's true, they've absolutely got to fire her for endangering the lives of all of her passengers. She made a horribly risky decision. I'm sure she was in a tough position and felt pressured to try to make the drive despite not having her meds, but putting all those people's lives in jeopardy is not an option.

OTOH, if she called in a said she couldn't drive, megabus would probably have fired her, and chances are their drivers are not paid particularly well. I reckon there's a structural problem here of poor pay and benefits, along with shiatty treatment of drivers by the company, that even makes it possible for a driver to a) forget her necessary medication in another city and b) decide to drive anyways, knowing that she could pass out and cause a bunch of deaths.

I'm curious as to what the overall passenger-mile safety record is. My guess is that even with the last couple of issues Megabus has had, that there would still be fewer accidents per passenger per mile than if all those passengers drove the same distances but in separate cars.

/I'm not sure if that made any sense

WTF?! It sounds like you're some liberal intent on introducing more regulation into this process.

Listen to Rand Paul and let the free market take care of this problem. If a significant percentage of these buses kill all their customers, then the colored people will find other ways to travel.

The Megabus story that politicians and the media won't touch with a fork:

The $20 Megabus trip from Chicago to Minneapolis once a month, so Chicago welfare folks can stay overnight with friends and family, then go down to the Minneapolis welfare office to collect a big check using a Minneapolis address. Then, back on the bus for Chicago, a round-trip to be repeated next month. A lot of people in authority have to know about this, but it must be a really hot potato.

There was a scene in 'Newsroom' recently where he sounded just like Harry when he delivered his line (which was only a few words).

Agreed btw, but let's find a non-shooty way to stop the new movie.
