Holy shiat, what?! I thought Perry had it locked up. Talk about an upset.

I know! Personally, I thought the Herman Cain/Stephen Colbert ticket was going to make a last-second comeback... *sigh*

Me too, but aleast we can look foward to a series of spirited and friendly debates that will surely reveal who the best candidate is.

If nothing else, it would've made for a more interesting and less depressing election season.

I doubt there will be a debate. Romney will avoid that like the plague.

That's about as likely as Gary Richardson (Libertarian Presidential Candidate) getting invited to debate with Obama.

Oh, yeah. His campaign has already been the least cooperative in recent memory, even refusing to adhere to the standard set by his own father. What's one more?

So, just curious, why do you all think that Obama and Romney are so close in the polls?

Who really thinks Romney is going to be some kind of positive challenge to the past 4 years?

2012-08-28 08:14:34 PM
Now can we laugh at the people that said the base would stage a floor fight after Romney would take a beating because he wouldn't release his taxes and [17 other things] and maybe RON PAUL!?

I tried to watch some of the live feed, but I only lasted 3 minutes. Some awful woman was on stage bragging about how she and her husband (who learned to upholster in the marines or something stupid) had an autistic child and thu ebil experts said he would be a vegetable but they knew right what to do, they STARTED A BUSINESS (pause for applause with smug grin) making soft covers or some shiat... at this point I couldnt do it any more.

What a clusterfark.

They're close in the popular vote because people are uninformed and blaming everything on the guy left holding the bag after the economy crashed. But in the electoral college, Rmoney has a hill to climb.

Well, there will be a debate, the video of which will be the sole property of Romney and then he won't release it to 'you people'. But rest assured, he will have kicked ass.

Kelly Ayotte is f*cking boring. It's like watching a f*cking church pastor say the same sh*t over and over.

Also Kelly I'm pretty sure "Barack Obama has not even run a lemonade stand" probably doesn't apply anymore since he's been running the country for the past four years and pretty well in my book considering how much time he's had in control of Congress.

This. The last two polls in FL have Obama up 3pts and 4 pts. If Romney loses FL, it's over.

He's gonna lose. Job recovery is slow but happening. Home prices and sales are going up. If Romney wins Florida or Ohio it'll be at the expense of any number of states, including either Ohio or Florida, VA, NC, Iowa, and so on.

And as of yesterday, CNN is now calling North Carolina a "tossup" after it was previously leaning slightly toward Rmoney. And NC is where the DNC will be held next week.

That's what happens when you decide to campaign for white people only by bashing minorities. It's the new future, and Republicans are going to find it even worse in 2016 unless they figure out how to close the minority gaps.

There is something funny hearing a New Hampshire business owner condemning regulations set by the government while praising the governor of Massachusetts.

We in New Hampshire make fun of the rules and stupidity of Massachusetts.

/Fark you, Governor Kasich
//I left Ohio because of you

So all that fantasizing about a brokered convention and drafting Sister Sarah on the convention floor was just crap.

Can't say I'm surprised, but maybe a little disappointed. Would have enjoyed it if the circus had lasted a little bit longer. Now it's just 70 days of empty promises and sidestepping the idiotic statements of people in their own party. Goody.

The Federal Government agreeing to pick up their Medicaid obligations didn't hurt either

I guess nobody cares about the guy who is talking now. CBS and Fox, and ABC's live You Tube, are all having their talking heads give commentary instead of just playing the speech.

John Kasich's tl;dr:

"The economy is getting better in Ohio, so vote Romney!"

"Romney saved the Olympics (with tens of millions from the federal govt), so vote Romney!"

"Biden sucks at golf, so vote Romney!"

2012-08-28 08:33:51 PM
Wow Gov. Kasich. Spreading lies and half-truths is one thing. But when you dog a man's golf game behind his back...I didn't think even Republicans were that low down.

Imperialism: Hey John Kasich,

John Kasich prioritized things in Ohio.

1. Cuts to education
2. More money to wall street

I bet the gains in jobs are wonderful and well paying. Nothing like making minimum wage at McDonalds.

I was soooooo looking forward to this convention even just a couple months ago. When John Kasich is as dynamic a speaker as has hit the stage in the first hour and a half of coverage...well, I suppose when Romney's the centerpiece it's gonna be a snoozefest.

/seriously, 30 seconds in to Boehner's opening clunker this was obviously doomed.
//even for the lulz.

Sure there will be.

OBAMA: Look, things are still farked up and it doesn't help that you keep electing the people who farked it up in the first place.
FOX NEWS AUDIENCE: Harumph, harumph, harumph harumph.
ROMNEY: Cut taxes! Outlaw abortion! Prayer in schools!

Yeah...I'd be surprised he had the gall to claim that as his own doing if it hadn't already been laughably outdone by Romney claiming to have been the idea guy for the auto industry bailout.

Things were far more favorable for Obama 4 years ago. At least from my unscientific perspective. The sense of inevitability for this year in this thread is a bit disconcerting.

Well, the delegate from Puerto Rico got heckled and drowned out by "USA! USA!"...or it could've been RON PAUL supporters being RON PAUL supporters: Link

Also, Amazing Grace, that great African American spiritual, unofficial theme song of the civil rights movement...was sung by the Oak Ridge Boys, a group of old white men.

I don't see any real difference.

I'm just surprised that the two are so close in the polls.
Who the fark really supports the Republican party anymore?
