That's the secret.... Ron Paul is ALWAYS angry.

Did you make legalization of pot one of your main planks?!?! Have you demanded the return of the gold standard? Have you promised to return all troops to US soil?

If you didn't answer hell yes to all of these question you pissed off all 123 Ron Paul supports that will vote in November

I have a buddy who is a huge Paul supporter. He went to Paul's rally in Florida, he donates time and money to his campaign, he ruins nights at the bar with his endless political talk. If you joke around about Paul you get lectured for 20 minutes.

I can understand where Team Romney is coming from.

It's interesting what they're doing in Tampa. Shows that Romney will do anything to get what he feels he deserves.

Actually, I believe Romney, for once. RONPAUL supporters are freaking unhinged.

The lady they had announce the Minnesota votes during the roll call was funny. Something along the lines of "Minnesota, where we have fair elections, casts the majority of its votes for Rep. Ron Paul!"

They just finished rollcall at the RNC. The official vote counters tallied the votes for Romney, and refused to acknowledge when states read out votes for other candidates. There was a very faint "RON PAUL" after every instance of the vote counter not reading back Paul's votes.

Pissed them off soon as you were born a Mexican.

Have they always done roll call this early or could this be because of something could have happened that would have screwed up the delegate counts?

I swear it was always in prime time

I think they were planning to do it yesterday, but the hurricane changed that plan.

I also thought it was the second day. Roll call was always my favorite part and I missed a good chunk of it

I'm watching this now and this looks awkwardly planned

I'm shocked that the Paulites didn't throw the convention into turmoil with a strong, principled stand for what they believe in, as they had proclaimed for months that they would. It's almost like they are ordinary rank and file Republicans when it comes down to it.

When you consider how piss poor their best is they probably are telling the truth

There's a way to not piss off crazy old people? What do they do, pass out liquor and valium?

2012-08-28 06:27:27 PM
I'm still not really clear on how appointing your own delegates works. So we've got a random state that votes a delegate to the convention, and they're bound by their state's rules, which in some cases is "Vote for this guy, but if he doesn't get a majority, use your best instincts." So Paul's campaign subverted the process in order to stack its own friendlies in there. With the rule change, would the primary take place normally in a state, but they don't bother sending a delegate because Romney will just choose whoever he wants?

Furthermore, is it the delegates who determine party platforms and priorities? I can see why they'd be angry if every four years, whichever dope is next in line gets to kick all the grassroots people in the face and create whatever platform he wants.

No, no, you're thinking of the Tea Party. Paulites are crazy college-age people.

Ron Paul supporters trend younger, unlike any other republican.

Romney's mistake was failing to hand out free weed brownies to the delegates.

2012-08-28 06:34:16 PM
"Party rules, honestly, that's not the campaign," Beth Myers, wholed Romney's VP search, told an audience in Tampa Tuesday.

Does Ann know that Mitt has other women 'wholing' him? I'm not even sure where the Mittster would get the equipment, sex toys are illegal in his other "home state" of Utah.

Statistically insignificant compared to the rest of the GOP.

Don't insult autistic people by comparing them to Paulites. Paulites are just sanctimonious douchenozzles.

Fortunately wingnuts like Paul and his demented followers will never by accepted by mainstream public opinion. When this little draft-dodging coward finally retires both parties can get down to the serious business of defending America and our staunch ally (I think you know who) and prevent Iran from using their huge arsenal of WMDs to pollute all of our precious bodily fluids.

I was a delegate for Ron Paul because I wanted to see more state-level driven innovations towards governance. What President Obama did by granting waivers to the welfare reform regulations so that states could try what suits them best is a strong step in the right direction. The fact that the Romney campaign took a good idea, or at least what I think is a good idea, and shat on it to smear Obama has pretty much sealed my vote for Obama. Just because he's a politician doesn't mean he can't be better than that.

Writes Travis Holte: "The Ron Paulians chanted, 'Seat them now!' after getting steamrolled on certification of the Maine delegates. The creep Repubs chanted 'USA, USA' over them."

UPDATE from Travis: "So far Alaska and Arizona have given Paul 9 and 3 votes respectively. The big story is the roll taker. She's completely ignoring the Paul votes, only repeating those of Romeny."

UPDATE from Travis:

Massachusetts: 41 Romney, 0 Paul. ???
Maine: 10 Paul, 14 Romney.
Louisiana: 12 Paul, 32 Romney, 2 Santorum

Iowa: 22 Ron Paul, 6 Romney. Lot's of cheers for Paul. The roll taker only repeats the Romney total.

Hawaii: 17 Romney, 3 Paul

Georgia gives 72 to Romney, then the microphone gets tuned off for the Paul total. Overheard is someone on stage saying "Good job with the mic." Turns out Paul got 3.

New Jersey puts Romney over the top.

Also.

What's funny about them is they know a little about stuff and they think they now it all. Once I was trying to explain to one I worked with how the economy is not a zero sum game and inflation happens even if your not "printing money".

It would teach them well if Obama reached out to Ron Paul, and they found a common ground to work from. After all, the Republican Party just either wrote us off as an "insignificant little rebellion", or assumed that Romney not being Obama meant that we would get in line like little willing sycophants in November so their poster child for corporate greed can win.. I bet there's enough of us to matter in some very significant states.

If only he would care about not pissing off female voters who, by the way, are over 50% of the electorate.
