A moment of silence for Andrew Breitbart is interesting because he never shut his farking mouth in his life.

2012-08-28 03:06:43 PM
Of course, if it was during the Olympics, NBC would just cut to an interview with Ann Romney or something.

Conservatives don't like Politifact, Snopes, and any number of other sources that actually only spew facts, as facts have a liberal bias.

impaler: National Review: The website PolitiFact is going to be truth-squadding the Republican convention speakers this week, delivering verdicts on which claims are "mostly true" and which deserve a "pants on fire" rating. Our advice: Pay no attention to those ratings. PolitiFact can't be trusted to get the story right.

To be fair, PolitiFact has its critics on the left.

They're not going to rev up the hologram machine to have him walk out on stage and give a anti-obama rant?

Surprising

Shouldn't the moment of silence just be edited out of coverage?

Wow. they're being restrained then. I expect the O'Keefe maxi-mix edit to include a weeping Shirley Sherrod on her knees begging Brietbart to forgive her for hounding him into his grave and the ACORN employees begging for mercy as brietbart orders them cast into the firey pits of hell. Oh an it will feature dildoes for some never properly explained reason

I was going to say. Thing I've noticed most about PolitiFact is that they often will not exactly get the stated claim correctly, or will go out of their way to not make it seem like a string of claims from the same person said in the same speech are completely false. Basically, they act like CNN, doing themselves a disfavor in a ham-handed attempt to appear "impartial".

I've never quite understood why it is that O'Keefe makes the full video available for his little remixes. It doesn't help him any.

I couldn't honestly say no.

I remember when I thoughtfully consider my political options and was actively engage in the process, paying attention to what policies and agendas candidates proposed. Unfortunately that doesn't apply anymore. Their is the stereotype of two faced politician, then there is Romney. I literally have zero choice this year. I don't particularly like Obama, but he is the only option. I am forced to vote democrat until either the GOP dies and is replaced or decides to ignore their extremists. I am fine with either outcome.

They nominated Paul Ryan for VP by acclamation, and now they're in recess until 7:15. I assume that's East Coast time.

Really? I can see trotting out the ghost of Reagan or rousing the rabble with a protect marriage/guns/fetuses speech, but what possible constituency cares about Breitbart? That's not in keeping with the usual jingoistic, thinly-disguised hate speech that I've come to expect from the GOP.

Was he rich? Is there a PAC that needs to be catered to?

They should also congratulate Ohio for firing those 2 election supervisors for wanting to extend early voting hours.

For a buck-fifty in quarters, that's a cheap solution to Medicare/SS if we can get the TV networks to push the idea.

Brietbart died from a cocaine-induced heart attack. Apparently, the fact that it wasn't "crack" cocaine like the brownies smoke, and he only snorted it, makes him all the more admirable.

OK, I know taht traditionally, they rig the vote (or more accurately, when they know candidate's home state has the requisitie votes to put the candidate over the magic number so that technically, his home state can say they sealed the electrion for him) but.....wasn't he born / raised in Michigan, and then the governor of Mass, but lived predominantly in Utah? who gets to "claim" him?

Good point. Everyone under 54 seems to be dumb enough to believe Paul Ryan's buck-fifty solution to solving the entitlement/deficit problem, no teevee networks needed.

Ohio will claim him, mark my words - the disparity between exit polls (if anyone has the balls to talk about it) and declared results will be astounding in OH. Blackwell had plenty of time to turn Ohio into a Diebold machine.

New Jersey did it. Sometimes they play politics on who puts the candidate up. It could be a way to get supporters happy or swing states to think they are being noticed. I didn't see all of Roll call, but I wonder if New Jersey did it since Christie is speaking tonight

Well, it isn't exactly the kind of thing the GOP talks about openly, but yea, I'm sure that'll happen at various locations throughout the arena.

I seriously doubt it. I know for a fact that there isn't a bust of Maddow or Huffington on display in any of our state capitals, like the one of Rush Limbaugh in Missouri. There are fundamental differences between progressives and conservatives, and this fact alone sums them up.

Only if they pretend their platform and base doesn't exist, which is what all the speechifying will attempt to accomplish. Meanwhile the Tea Party and Evangelicals will hold their nose and STFU.

I don't know. A moment of silence (brief recognition at a party event) is a far cry from a bronze bust at the state capital (permanent recognition by the state government). I'd like to believe you are correct, but I can't dismiss it so easily. I'm just gonna put this under 'non-story' in my ledger.
