Ahem, I believe they like to be called attractive and successful staffordshire terriers.

As a pit bull owner I am getting really farking tired of telling people it all depends on how you raise them. The penalty for raising a dog like this should be the owner getting spayed and nuetered.

So if, say, a Dingo was hand raised from birth in a decent, loving household, it would NEVER go on a rampage like this, huh? Or a wolf? Coyote? Jackals?...

That just might be the dumbest thing I have ever seen in a pit bull thread. You do understand that pit bulls are domesticated animals right?

They still have instincts. And every animal can have a 'bad day', no matter how its' raised.

This proves that pit bulls make great companions for children and you are in much greater danger of being killed by a chihuaua since they do the most bites. Case closed.

Intact male dogs are responsible for 97% of all dog attacks. Breed really doesn't matter. Owners matter.

THIS.

Pitbulls and boxers are bred to be violent and aggressive. It's in their genes.
I'm so f*cking sick of watching every half-assed tough guy wannabe get a pitbull. They make you look pathetic and insecure.

Got five of the rascals. All rescue dogs. Best friends I've ever had other than the wife and Boss, my 17.5 hand Percheron, American Mammoth mule.

Not a damn thing wrong with American Terriers. Just the criminal idiots who ruin them.

As the owner of a rescued wolf hybrid, I can tell your a dumb-ass.

In the battle of nature vs. nurture, nurture, and good info put into good practice is what saves lives.

The people raising the animal are defective, not the animals.

Oh no, I'm sure YOUR pit bull isn't one of the ones that will snap and fatally maul a loved one, or a neighbor kid.

We have to give the cops/author credit though... They didn't just label both dogs as generic Pits, they specified one as a Boxer. Makes me think that maybe for once they have the right breeds.

A friend of mine has had a Pit mix for about 2 years. My daughter is 3 1/2, and has played with the dog since it was a hyperactive puppy without a single incident. I have no problem letting her go over there.

I take it back. Your Weeners is not the dumbest thing I have ever read in a pit bull thread. This is. Dogs do not have bad days if you do not mistreat them. Max, my 90lbs pitty has one mood. He is happy all the time. He is never going to have a "bad day" and go on a rampage. Hell, he wont even leave the yard. I walk him off leash all the time. He never shows aggression to people or dogs. Ever! Why, you might ask? Because that is how I trained him. The only thing he is interested in is getting/giving attention and playing tug of war.

Isn't the most common statement from owners when something like this happens "My dog is 'usually' the most loving, cuddly around."
It's the dog.....and it also 'can' be the owners.

Yeah... towards other dogs. Not people. You're a moron. A responsible pit bull owner should be aware of the possibility that their dog will not like other dogs... that is what you sign up for when you get one. If, however, they are aggressive toward humans, they should be put down.

As for Boxers... I don't know enough about them so I can't comment.

Being that there are only 15-25 cases a year, it depends. And going by the stats I found, Rottweilers.
