Look, asshat, you don't put the spoiler IN THE FARKING HEADLINE. You write the words "spoiler alert" in the headline and then you write a post and you put SPOILER ALERT at the top and scroll down about a quarter screen's worth of space and THEN you type the spoiler. You've now ruined this movie for me, and I hope you suffer mightily for that.

Just for that, I'm going to hurt you back. You know that new Titanic 3D movie they're making? Well, the boat sinks and Leonardo DiCaprio dies. HA.

Life is pain, subby.

The film, written and narrated by conservative scholar propagandist Dinesh D'Souza

That tells me everything I need to know about this film.

While he was at Dartmouth in the 80s, Dinesh D'Souza went to a Gay/Straight Alliance meeting pretending to be an ally, and then he published a list of the attendees in the Conservative Student newspaper, under the title "Sodomites List".

Why? Because he's a farking asshole.

And that's really all you need to know about him.

To be fair, he did have the good taste to put those that self-identify as bisexual on the Sodomaybes List.

It is a typical hatchet job, showing how Obama's father and his anti-colonial politics had such a huge influence over Obama's politics. Of course, he left Baby Barack when he was 2, so take that with a grain of salt the size of the Rock of Gibraltar. And there are these nuggets:

_ D'Souza rightly argues that the national debt has risen to $16 trillion under Obama. But he never mentions the explosion of debt that occurred under Obama's predecessor, Republican George W. Bush, nor the 2008 global financial crisis that provoked a shock to the U.S. economy.

_ D'Souza says Obama is "weirdly sympathetic to Muslim jihadists" in Afghanistan and Pakistan. He does not mention that Obama ordered the raid that killed Osama bin Laden and the drone strikes that have killed dozens of terrorists in the region.

_D'Souza wrongly claims that Obama wants to return control of the Falkland Islands from Britain to Argentina. The U.S. refused in April to endorse a final declaration on Argentina's claim to the islands at the Summit of the Americas, provoking criticism from other Latin American nations.

_D'Souza says Obama has "done nothing" to impede Iran's nuclear ambitions, despite the severe trade and economic sanctions his administration has imposed on Iran to halt its suspected nuclear program. Obama opposes a near-term military strike on Iran, either by the U.S. or Israel, although he says the U.S. will never tolerate a nuclear-armed Iran.

_ D'Souza says Obama removed a bust of British Prime Minister Winston Churchill from the Oval Office because Churchill represented British colonialism. White House curator William Allman said the bust, which had been on loan, was already scheduled to be returned before Obama took office. Another bust of Churchill is on display in the president's private residence, the White House says.

I've been talking with some of my Facebook friends about this movie. Because I had the gall to say that D'Souza's thesis rests on the assumption that there is one, and only one, political, economic, and governing philosophy that is American and that this assumption is wrong, they've now tarred me as somebody who believes that there is absolutely no truth in the world whatsoever and am completely anti-American.

And later in separate blogs, he'll likely claim that Obama leaked info about our hacking efforts against Iran's nuclear program for political gain.

You know who had anti-colonial beliefs? The Founding Fathers, biatch.

When I first heard about this movie, I briefly thought that it might be a thoughtful deconstruction of neoKeynesian policies, and an examination of the failure of post-recovery leaders to make the necessary cuts to offset recession/recovery deficit-spending.

Very briefly.

There is an interesting theory on this. They say the reason negative attacks are up is because most people have already made up their mind who to vote for so neither candidate is trying to win over undecided voters (who normally dislike attack ads) instead all their focus is on getting people who will vote for them out to the polls by showing how terrible it will be if the other person wins.

Yeah, yeah, I know, diving into the lion's den is suicide. I still feel it's my duty to defend other points of view, even if it results in people thinking I'm an idiot (which I love pointing out to them that they know me and have repeatedly stated that I am a very sharp person).

That's what's so farking bizarre about D'Souza's schtick. Being against British colonialism has ALWAYS been a key part of US foreign policy and thought. Even during WW2, when we were the closest of allies, FDR was making it clear that we wouldn't lift a finger to ensure that the British Empire remained intact after the war.

FACT CHECK: Anti-Obama film muddy on facts

D'Souza says Obama is "weirdly sympathetic to Muslim jihadists" in Afghanistan and Pakistan. He does not mention that Obama ordered the raid that killed Osama bin Laden and the drone strikes that have killed dozens of terrorists in the region.

Dinesh D'souza is nothing, if not a demagogic profiteer. He knows his audience, the most uneducated and the most stubbornly right wing people inhabiting this country. He uses ridiculous leaps of logic, not unlike Glenn Beck, to sell his brand of journalistic truth. His inflammatory rhetoric only serves to further divide the people of this country. Focusing on the President's supposed agenda and "socialist" and "anti-american" upbringings, D'souza only looks to demonize and distort his opposition, instead of attacking him on the issues and his record. - not mine but no link, not for you, can't haz :)

If you need a film to tell you whether or not you think Obama should be reelected you haven't been paying much attention the last few years.

Note for the "I want to interpret that my own way! Now that I've twisted it to mean what I wanted I have a problem with it!" crowd. That was a neutral statement.
