Remember, the GOP thinks there is a War on Christianity, Christmas, Whites, Families, Men, Guns, Money, Rich People....

But when you try and pass laws that limit the rights of a woman, THERE IS NO WAR ON WOMEN!

I hate Republicans.

To a Republican, "War on Women" means you point out that Sarah Palin is a dingbat.

And when you point these things out and make them look bad for it, you're just part of the Democrats' real War on Women.

Don't worry your pretty little head. We'll make sure that in addition to voter ID laws, you'll have to have your hymen checked to be allowed to vote. Disenfranchisement will stay one step ahead of dissent. Permanent Majority.

Much of my family believes there is a "war on Christianity." They're the reason someone invented that pie graph. I learned a while ago not to ask for any specific examples of the government passing laws impeding their right to worship as they please.

But the war on women is taking place in state legislatures all across the country, and is an official plank in the GOP 'platform,' whatever that is. People are actually passing laws designed to punish women for having the audacity of getting laid. Hell, some of them want to punish them for being raped.

These two "wars" are not the same. One is in your head, grandma. The other is all around you if you'd bother listening to anything but Rush Limbaugh.

You mean the exact position ROMNEY supported until after the primary?

He's had 3 very different views on Abortion all depending on who is voting for him.

Mass: Pro-Choice
Rep Primary: Pro-life NO EXCEPTIONS! (wants constitutional amendment to say life starts at conception)
General Primary: Pro-life Except incest, rape, life of mother.

This guy doesn't stand for anything except getting elected.

Nevermind that women make 18% less than men in Obama's white house
Nevermind that single mothers make less than they did in 2000
Nevermind that stay at home moms are now having to leave home to work since their husbands make less
Nevermind the negative savings rate in this country making it damn near impossible for families to retire

I agree only if people of similar religions could come together and build a building where they could read the bible and pray and maybe talk about their religion and like preach about it. Only if something like that existed in America!!!

Great, another RINO crypto-liberal "journalist" explaining how her blatant sexism somehow reflects poorly on conservatives. Here is a purity test Kathleen, are all your kids really you husbands? "I wanted to increase the work requirement," said Romney. "I said, for instance, that even if you have a child 2 years of age, you need to go to work. And people said, 'Well that's heartless.' And I said, 'No, no, I'm willing to spend more giving day care to allow those parents to go back to work. It'll cost the state more providing that daycare, but I want the individuals to have the dignity of work.'"

I can only shake my head...

Republicans choose the wrong Mormon.

Huntsman would have been better for them against Obama. His ambassadorship gives him quasi-foreign policy experience and the China angle is good to talk about the economy.

I think Obama would have won but Obama/Huntsman would have elevated the debate. So instead Obama is gonna be Romney with what they're calling negative ads which is basically 30 seconds of tape of things Romney says/believes.

They choose this corporate raider who will say anything to appease the people directly in front of him.

2012-08-27 06:26:58 PM
The republican mantra has long been along the lines of "we need to bring america back to what it once was, to a time when we were a proud, strong nation" and that idyllic time just happens to be when women couldn't vote, blacks were property, and various dark skinned people (Mexicans and Natives) were killed en masse because taking more land was our destiny.

2012-08-27 06:27:32 PM

o5iiawah: Nevermind that women are the biggest victims of the down economy in terms of job loss

And the economy is completely the fault of the Democratic Party. No Republican policies or obstructionism that are involved.

o5iiawah: Nevermind that female babies are disproportionately targeted for gender-specific abortions

Personal choice, none of your damned business. It's not like China's forced abortion policies.

o5iiawah: Nevermind that our administration cozies up to the Taliban and Muslim Brotherhood, organizations that think it is reasonable that a woman must bring 4 male witnesses in order to file a rape report

Because Predator drone strikes and ass-kickings (to the point of bombing civilians and acquaintances at their funerals and weddings) are a nice way of letting someone know you're cozying up to them. And when Al Franken and Democrats were trying to make sure rapists were punished in Congress, Republicans totally weren't pro-rape obstructionists.

o5iiawah: Nevermind that women make 18% less than men in Obama's white house

Which is kind of irrelevant. What's at discussion here is political policy. Guess you're some PC liberal pussy right?

o5iiawah: Nevermind that single mothers make less than they did in 2000

Refer to the prior comment on the economy.

o5iiawah: Nevermind that stay at home moms are now having to leave home to work since their husbands make less

Refer to the prior comment on the economy. Besides this one and the one before it has to do with supply-side economics, outsourcing, and the fact that wages haven't been adjusted properly since the farking 70s while unions have been busted/lack of a general labor movement in the US and CEO pay has just risen and risen.
And I very much doubt that in a two parent household there are many cases where both want to work, but if both parents have careers or jobs they enjoy and manage to take care of their kids, so what?

o5iiawah: Nevermind the negative savings rate in this country making it damn near impossible for families to retire

Well that and Republican economic policy destroying any chance of social mobility (Dems aren't blameless btw) and trying to do away with any social programs for retirement.

o5iiawah: but Republicans hate women.

2012-08-27 06:32:51 PM

o5iiawah: Nevermind that women are the biggest victims of the down economy in terms of job loss

Because far more women work in positions like public education that have been targeted in giant state government spending cuts, almost exclusively in states with Republican governors and legislatures. How the hell is that Obama's fault?

Nevermind that female babies are disproportionately targeted for gender-specific abortions

How do doctors know that the reason somebody is getting an abortion is because of the gender of the baby?

Nevermind that our administration cozies up to the Taliban and Muslim Brotherhood, organizations that think it is reasonable that a woman must bring 4 male witnesses in order to file a rape report

Nevermind that women make 18% less than men in Obama's white house

Not that I'm going to excuse the Democrats not paying women equally, but Republicans in Congress are far worse offenders of unequal pay for equal work than Democrats in Congress.

Nevermind that single mothers make less than they did in 2000

That couldn't have anything to do with the fact that the GOP orchestrated a series of bubbles in Wall Street that eventually blew up the damn economy and destroyed millions of jobs, leaving tons of people helpless in the wake of the biggest crash in 80 years, could it?

Nevermind that stay at home moms are now having to leave home to work since their husbands make less

That's rich, coming from somebody who believes moms should have the dignity of work.

Nevermind the negative savings rate in this country making it damn near impossible for families to retire

Again, that's almost entirely because of the Wall Street crash.

but Republicans hate women.

They sure do!
